America has an array of breathtaking sights, check out our top ten beautiful places in the States.

Prismatic Springs, Wyoming

Located in Yellowstone National Park, is the largest hot spring in the US and the third largest in the world. It is quite a site to see! The hot springs very hot water, gives off a stunning array of vibrant colours; with the pool a piercing blue, surrounded by rings of colour ranging from red to green. 

Grand Canyon, Arizona

One of the most famous tourist spots in America, the Grand Canyon is world famous. Just the views of the Canyon itself are amazing, but if you have more time on your hands hike to the beautiful Havasu Falls. The desert oasis is jaw-dropping, with its crystal blue water and gushing falls, but takes a ten mile hike to get to – you will need to camp overnight.

Niagara Falls, Ney York/Buffalo

Niagra falls from the American side is in New York, and from here you can see Horseshoe Falls, Bridal Veil Falls and American Falls. The huge cascading waterfall is truly an incredible sight to see.

Yosemite, California.

One of the most famous national parks in America, Yosemite is in California’s Sierra Nevada Mountains. There is so much to do in Yosemite, from hikes to waterfalls to gigantic trees, it is definitely one to add to the bucket list.

Multnomah Falls, Oregon

Looking at Multnomah Falls you feel like you have been taken into a Lord of the Rings movie, it is spectacular! If it looks familiar it was actually used in the Twilight movie, when Edward and Bella are on their way to the baseball field!

Hamilton Pool, Texas

Hamilton Pool in Texas is a breath-taking sight, with water cascading over a half enclosed and half open pool of gorgeous emerald water, you can even take a dip here! The natural pool was created when the dome of an underground river collapsed. It is located west of Austin, Texas.

Watkins Glen, New York

This State Park is most famous for the Finger Lakes State Parks, with insane waterfalls that the gorge path runs over and under. Another stunningly magical place, it will remind you of Rivendell with its extraordinary scenery.

Horseshoe Bend and Antelope Canyon, Arizona

Antelope Canyon is a slot canyon in Arizona and is one of the top 25 places to see in the world! It has two separate slot sections referred to as ‘Antelope Canyon’ or the ‘Crack’. Make sure you time your visit well to see the light beams that happen at certain times of the day, and shine through the openings. Horseshoe Bend is a beautiful spot, with a horseshoe-shaped meander of the Colorado River. 

Dry Tortugas, Florida

Dry Tortugas is something you will have never seen before! Accesible only by boat or seaplane it is a remote national park, surrounded by water.  Fort Jefferson is located on Garden Key and is the largest 19th Century fort in the US. You can camp, swim, snorkel and dive, do paddle sports and take a tour of Fort Jefferson here!

Badlands, South Dakota

Badlands looks like something straight out of a Wild West movie. The towering rocks formed by erosion, are located in South Dakota and has a maze of canyons, pinnacles and spires. If you really want to see something magical why not go there for some nightime stargazing.
