Why did you apply to work at camp?

I applied to Camp America because my friend did it for a few years and loved it. He told me I would be great at it so I applied. I went to a recruitment to get hired and found the application process very easy to complete and straight forward.

Favourite thing about America...

America is amazing, there is so much to see and explore. That’s my favourite thing about America, the states are so different and I got to experience so many different places.

Best part about working on camp...

My favourite thing about camp is the people you meet while working at camp. They are amazing and you make incredible friendships so quickly. Also the campers you work with are awesome, you create such amazing connections with them, and getting to see them grow is incredible. Obviously break days are great too, getting off camp and exploring America.

What Camp Type Was Your Camp?

I went to a Salvation Army Christian camp, which I loved as I am a Christian. I loved the fact that I was working and growing with people on a similar journey to me. I also loved that we could grow in our faith but also tell the camper about faith and god. I found it extremely rewarding as we were working with kids from all different backgrounds and you see the impact that you have on their lives and see how much spending a week speaking to them doing activities with them and believing in them has on their live

I wasn’t anxious about the camp type I just saw it as an opportunity to grow and get outside of my comfort zone.

What Will You Take Away From Camp?

What I have taken from camp is so many life long friends, the people are incredible and I know they will be friends for life. The experience in different activities was also brilliant, I would’ve never got to try so many new things, if I didn’t got to camp. It gave me the opportunity to travel and the impact I was able to make on the campers lives and the impact they made on mine, was amazing.
