Sophie had always wanted to work on camp and so didn't waste any time when the opportunity came. She has spent 4 summers as a General Counsellor on a private, Jewish camp in Pennsylvania.
George worked at a Salvation Army camp for the summers 2013-2014. After leaving camp with so many friends from different backgrounds and countless memories, George has helped other people on their Camp America journey by becoming an interviewer and working in the CA office.
Sophie has spent 5 summers working on a YMCA camp in Pennsylvania. Starting off as a General Counselor and working her way up to a Director position, she loves camp!
Adam worked at a private camp in California for 4 summers. HE started as a general counselor and ended his last 2 summers as a Head Counselor managing a staff of over 75. He always wanted to visit America, but had no idea how significant his first time would lead to be, after meeting his current fiance.
Applied to Camp America from Spain was a different experience for Gloria but one that she would never swap. Feeling supported the whole way, she was desperate to get to America and spent 2 amazing summers serving up a Spanish storm in the kitchen.
As a videographer and later Senior Counsellor, Jimmy has seen it all! With 3 summers at 2 different camps he's been involved in nearly every activity on camp!
Maddie spent 1 summer working on a traditional Girl Scout camp and loved her experience so much she now runs the Girl Scout programme for Camp America!
Josh has spent 3 summers as a Golf Specialist and Assistant Group Leader at a huge private camp in Pennsylvania.
After 4 summers at a Girl Scout camp in Vermont it's fair to say Cheri loves camp! Her role is predominantly a Performing Arts counsellor but she has a lot of different experiences!
Tom is a great advocate for the programme. Knowing he wanted to take part but didn't necessarily have the childcare experience he needed, he jumped straight into the Campower role and hasn't looked back.
After spending a summer travelling America Katie immediately wanted to return and experience summer camp life! As a Lifeguard and Boating instructor, Katie spent the majority of her time on a beautiful lake in Connecticut and wouldn't swap it for the world.
Michael has worked at camp for 4 summers now and loves his experience! His camp falls under a number of different categories; underprivileged, military, boys and Christian so he has a lot of great stories!
