Camp Overview
YMCA Camp Arbutus Hayo-Went-Ha Camps is an all girls YMCA residential camp that offers a dynamic combination of wilderness experiences and traditional on site activities. Located in Michigan on beautiful Arbutus Lake, with cozy cabins and lodges, operating since 1914. Campers will experience adventure and fun in beautiful unplugged surroundings while developing lifelong friendships and memories. Our exciting and challenging wilderness adventure programs allow each age level to experience the great outdoors in a safe group setting. Trip options include hiking, canoeing, biking, or kayaking in beautiful out of camp locations in Northern Michigan and Southern Canada. In-camp activities include: sailing, swimming, archery, crafts, canoeing, ropes course, climbing tower, drama, field sports, skits, singing and campfires. We emphasize and follow the four core values of the YMCA of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility in all that we do. We also run a lifeguard and swim instructor course for our staff.
START TIME OFF
One day a week off from 5pm to 5pm the following day. Some evenings also are scheduled time off and other breaks during the day.
STAFF QUALITIES
Counselors - camping experience, experience working with youth Kitchen staff - deli, restaurant or kitchen experience.
