​Camp Overview

Our residential day camp is located in sunny St. Augustine, Fl just miles from the beach.  Summer Camp at The Village Academy is designed for school aged children ages 5 through 13 and includes a Leader in Training (LIT) program for 14 through 16 year olds. We are a smaller day camp with approximately 220 children enrolled and we average approximately 150 children each day. Our day camp is located on the campus of our preschool center which is nestled on 4 acres of land. Our facility includes a large air conditioned gymnasium, 2 swimming pools, several classroom spaces, outdoor pavilions, and playgrounds/fields. Our campers come from a variety of backgrounds and many have grown up within our schools and are return campers. We work hard to provide a positive camp culture and experience for our Camp America counselors and look forward to welcoming them into The Village Academy family. We have participated with Camp America for over 15 years and have formed lasting relationships with many of our previous counselors.

Each year our summer camp features new and exciting weekly themes. Children experience fun & messy challenges, science experiments, cooking projects, daily swimming, sports, arts and crafts, color wars, music and dance, fun competitions, and weekly field trips.  A signature of our Summer Camp program each year is The Village Summer Camp Olympics.  This themed week brings with it so much fun and the children have an opportunity to compete for Camp Spirit and in various events from tug-o-war, pool relays, and obstacle courses, to watermelon and pie eating contests.  To add to the fun, we also invite our campers to enjoy at least two summer camp sleepovers each season and offer special field trips for our older campers.  We typically have many returning campers each year along with returning camp counselors and Olympics is a week that all look forward to. We are especially proud of the close relationships our campers form with their counselors each summer. Our counselors are assigned to a group of students in an age group and stays with this group for the duration of the summer. Summer Camp at The Village Academy offers you a unique opportunity to truly make a difference daily in the lives of your campers. Our summer camp counselors are great role models for our campers and typically reach celebrity status by the end of camp!

Summer Camp at The Village Academy provides an opportunity for our Camp America counselors to maintain a great balance between work and personal time. Since we are a day camp our counselors leave camp in the evening typically around 6 to 6:30 pm and drive the camp van back to their accommodation. Our counselors live in a condo on the beach which is located approximately 10 to 15 min from our camp. This means counselors arrive home in the evenings and have the evenings and weekends "off duty" to enjoy our beautiful city and surrounding areas. St. Augustine is a historic city that offers many activities & opportunities for things to do and is approximately 45 min from Jacksonville, Fl which is a much larger city. Previous camp counselors have enjoyed driving to nearby springs and beaches on the weekends and we are also located about 2 hours North of Orlando, Fl.  We will have 6 Camp America counselors, 2 American counselors, plus camp aides and life guards. Our Summer Camp Director is a previous Camp America counselor who has been with us for the last 3 summers and our Assistant Director of Summer Camp is also a previous Camp America counselor who spent two summers with us.
