Camp Overview
Located in Hedgesville, West Virginia, (1.5 hours northwest of Washington D.C.) Camp Tomahawk, a program of the Salvation Army services across Washington D.C. metropolitan area, Maryland and the Virginias. Underserved children attend Camp Tomahawk enjoying week long sessions of outdoor adventure and fun. From floating down a creek (tubing), archery, team sports, boating, low ropes, hiking, and camping outdoors, Camp Tomahawk provides a memorable week of a lifetime. Staff share the gospel through a unique outdoor ministry so every camper goes home feeling loved by God and love by the staff. Camp Tomahawk is proudly accredited by the American Camp Association and member of the Christian Camp & Conference Association.
STAFF TIME OFF
Camp sessions run Monday through Saturday morning. Staff time off is most of Saturday until reporting back to camp Sunday evening. Counselors are expected to be with the campers most of the day with scheduled breaks throughout day.
