Camp Overview
Located in the foothills of Sequoia National Park in beautiful California, River Way Ranch Camp offers children, ages 7-16, a summer of friendships and memories to last a lifetime. Campers may choose from 75 activities including wakeboarding and water skiing, English and Western horseback riding, photography, movie makeup, sewing, film production, ropes course, mini-bikes, go-karts, waverunners, theater/performing arts, gymnastics, hiking overnights and more.
Since 1967, River Way has provided exciting experiences, focusing on increasing self-confidence in children. Campers, ages 7-9, remain with their counselors throughout the day participating in a variety of activities, while 10-16-year-olds customize their schedules. Staff will act as activity counselors and cabin counselors, having a bunk of children that they spend mealtimes and evenings with, and teaching a variety of activities throughout the day. With a varied schedule, there's always something new and exciting to do at River Way!
Named one of the "50 most amazing camps in the Nation," by topeducationdegrees.org River Way prides itself on building a community with a family-like feel.
STAFF TIME OFF
Staff will have 24 hours off weekly, plus one free period a day. They will also receive some time most evenings to relax, connect with home, and socialize with other staff.
STAFF QUALITIES
We are looking for kind, enthusiastic, compassionate, empathetic staff to serve as role models to our campers! If you've worked in childcare, that's a plus, but not a requirement. We will teach our staff to become outstanding teachers, training them in most activities, Lifeguard/CPR/1st Aid, child psychology, and much more!
We are also in need of a few high-energy, outgoing leaders who love to entertain campers! It takes all types of personalities and skills to make camp a success!
