Camp Overview
North Shore Holiday House offers a unique and rewarding summer experience for both campers and counselors. Located on the beautiful North Shore of Long Island, we are just a 60-minute train ride from New York City. We offer three, 12-day sessions for girls ages 7–11 and two, 5-day sessions for girls ages 12-15.
Campers enjoy a wide variety of activities, including swimming, sports, arts and crafts, performing arts and our self-esteem building Girl Power program. Evenings bring the whole camp together for campfires, magic shows, cabin nights, games, and other special events. Themed days such as Carnival Day and Halloween Day as well as field trips to local attractions add even more fun to the summer.
As a staff member, we ask that our staff are committed, dependable and willing to learn. In return, we provide a safe and supportive environment where your wellbeing is important. You will live on-site with fellow counselors and have opportunities to enjoy cultural experiences both at camp and during your time off.

Staff Time Off
Camp is a busy and rewarding experience. Our campers stay with us for 12 days at a time, and while you will be working throughout each session, you will also receive regular time off to rest and recharge.
Counselors receive a minimum of two hours off each day, as well as three evenings off during every 12-day session and three weekends off throughout the summer. During your daily time off, you can relax in our staff lounge with access to your phone, Wi-Fi and TV, or take a walk into the local town.
Kitchen and Maintenance staff receive all evenings off, as well as three weekends off during the summer.
During your evenings and weekends off, there is plenty to explore. The nearby towns of Huntington and Cold Spring Harbor offer restaurants, shops, beaches and local events. New York City is also just a train ride away, making it easy to explore during your weekends off.
Staff are also welcome to stay at camp during their time off, relax on our beautiful grounds and use the pool when a lifeguard is available.
