Camp Overview
Santa Cruz, California and Huntington Lake, California. Friendly atmosphere. We work hard and play hard! Our campers are awesome young people! Tons of activities for the campers. Our activities are individualized for campers and staff so a variety of skills is a must. It is NOT hot in this part of California, so bring your wooly jumpers for the cool climate. Staff lounge with wifi (no wifi at Huntington Lake). You should be EXCITED about the opportunity to unplug from your devices for days at a time. Time off each week, transport to local town available. Some periods of up to 36 hours off for extra relaxation. Our cabins are rustic but comfortable. Experienced leaders from around the world. Lots of training offered and continual professional development throughout the summer. We have HIGH expectations of you. Strictly no alcohol, drug use, or smoking on site or on official activities. Lots of recreational events and activities for staff. Total staff 120, 50 international. We lead an active lifestyle and our dress code reflects that. One piece of advice for the fair: we don’t have much time together so make it clear to me you have read this information and know what we need and what you can offer. GOOD LUCK!
STAFF TIME OFF
Time off each week in 12-24 hour blocks. 2-3 weekends per summer with up to 48 hour breaks.
STAFF QUALITIES
Compassion. That is our number one requirement. We need you to understand that the campers come first all day, every day. You should be gentle, kind, outgoing, and fun to be around. Being shy and reserved is OK as long as you can bust out of your shell once in a while.
