Camp Overview

Camp Winona programs invite campers ages 5–17 to explore the outdoors in a fun, safe, and traditional camp setting — and it’s just as fun for staff who get to join in the adventure! Located in Hughesville, MD, Winona offers a wide range of programs, from week-long themed sessions to two-night minicamps. While at camp, campers and staff stay in glen shelters with electric and enjoy hearty, family-style meals in the dining hall, as well as outdoor cookouts and pack-outs with their program groups.
Each day is filled with energy and discovery — campers and staff swim daily, get creative with tie-dye and crafts, dive into STEM experiments, and explore the natural world through hands-on learning. Everyone works together on team-building challenges, practices archery, and hikes through camp to visit magical destination spots like Fossil Creek, Wish Tree, Mermairy House, or Hammock Village. Staff enjoy a close-knit, community feel, access to Wi-Fi in the staff house, and the chance to be part of something truly memorable — where adventure, laughter, and lifelong friendships grow every day.

Staff Time Off

3 hours off Monday-Thursday, one night off per week from 6-11 pm instead of the three hours. Off Most Fridays around 7 pm to Sunday around 12pm.

Staff Qualities

We look for staff members creative, outgoing, energetic and not afraid to be goofy. Who want to be good positive role models and mentors for thousands girls, and who will put the campers before themselves, making sure the campers are having a great time. Staff who are overly dedicated to this opportunity, don't mind getting dirty, take initiative and willing to embarrass themselves (if needed and at a moment’s notice).
