Camp Overview
Camp Wa-Klo is the ultimate summer camp experience where our camper makes friendships for life. We are located in southern New Hampshire, on beautiful Thorndike Pond. At Wa-Klo, our campers can zip down the zip line, hike a mountain, and shoot archery all in one day!
We have around 45 counselors and have 130-140 campers each session from all over the states and some international campers too!
Wa-Klo is steeped in tradition, a camp that is over 80 years old! Camp Wa-Klo empowers our campers and staff to be confident, independent, and have a voice.
At Camp Wa-Klo we hire exceptional women who are role models to our campers. Our working ethos revolves around the mindset: “How can I help”. Therefore, even though you will be hired for a specialist activity, our incredible counselors help with so many other aspects of camp life. Working at camp is a wonderful chance to inspire campers while helping them to grow in confidence and character, and gain courage. Campers want someone who will ‘feel comfortable being my role model and supporting me whenever I need guidance’, and by joining the Wa-Klo family, you'll be doing just that!

Staff Time Off
All of our staff get a minimum 24 hour day off each week (usually closer to 36 hours consecutively), and between 1-2 additional nights off each week from when evening activity ends (usually around 8pm) 8pm-12:30am, and room & board are included. We have a staff lounge that has tv, internet and a great place to chill out!
Staff Qualities
Women 19 years or older/at least 1 year of college-university is optimal.
Enjoy working with children.
Experience, certification and/or activity expertise.
Sense of humor, flexible, responsible, great attitude, and keeps children as the number 1 priority.
