Camp Overview
For over a hundred years, Camp Tapawingo has encouraged young girls to gain confidence, learn new skills, and become excellent leaders. Tapawingo hosts just under two hundred campers and staff members each summer, representing multiple states and countries around the world. Every week, campers have the opportunity to participate in several activities, including watersports, landsports, horseback riding, arts and crafts, theater, ropes challenge courses, and nature exploration around Maine and New Hampshire. Tapawingo is based on helping to nurture well-rounded, strong, independent women. As a staff member, you have the unique opportunity to encourage the development of confidence in young people while meeting lifelong friends, partaking in hundred-year-old traditions, and adventuring throughout the Northeast USA.
STAFF TIME OFF
Every day, you will have a period off (1 hour) from your teaching responsibilities. During this time, you can choose to partake in activities around camp such as waterskiing, zip lining, ceramics, and more. You will also have access to our WiFi shack during any time off to catch up with friends and family.
Every week, you will have one evening off (6pm - midnight) and one full day off. Camp has day-off activity sign-ups and supplies drivers to take you to nearby destinations for days off. You also have access to camp activities, the staff lounge and the staff WiFi shack on a day off if you choose to remain on site.
STAFF QUALITIES
We love high energy, enthusiastic staff members. We are seeking mature staff members who are experts in their activity areas and have experience working with young people. At Tapawingo, staff develop a "say yes" mentality and are willing to reach out of their comfort zones, even if it means being silly.
