Camp Overview
If you join us you will experience 3 of our 4 camp locations. You will spend your first 4 weeks at Camp Darden which is our largest camp consisting of 105 acres of fun. Amenities include swimming, boating, archery, ropes courses, outdoor challenge wall, climbing and axe throwing.
Housing includes platform tents, cabins, and a yurt! You will then move on to spend 3 weeks at Camp Skimino which is a little smaller at 90 acres but is our most popular location. Amenities include swimming, boating, archery, high/low ropes courses, and an indoor climbing wall. Housing again includes platform tents, cabins, lodges as well as a hammock site.
The last 3 weeks of your summer will be spent at either Camp Outback or Apasus, both day camps. Swim, boat, and enjoy activities with campers during the day and spend your evenings at our staff residence with a pool. All locations have wi-fi!!!!
STAFF TIME OFF
We know how important it is to have time to relax so each day staff will get 2 hours of "down time" to spend napping, showering, chatting with family, or watching a movie in our staff only area. You can even coordinate with others for a quick shopping excursion for snacks at Walmart! You will also have from Friday late afternoon to Sunday afternoon off and are encouraged to experience the local sites including the famous Virginia Beach boardwalk while at Apasus/Outback or Colonial Williamsburg or Bush Gardens while at Camp Skimino.
STAFF QUALITIES
Qualifications are pretty simple. You must enjoy helping create the future female leaders of tomorrow. You will do this by providing outdoor experiences to girls ages 6-18. Plus you must love to live and work in an outdoor setting.
