Camp Overview

Camp Ocean Pines is a traditional, residential non-profit camp located on the central coast of California. We accept every kid (and staff!) for who they are and want to help them grow into who they want to be. While campers are at camp, we focus on helping them connect with each other, explore the natural environment and learn valuable life skills such as self-confidence and resiliency! Our activities range from arts and crafts, target sports and campfires to kayaking on the ocean, LARPing and slime parties- we do it all!

We are a small, co-ed camp with 85 campers per session ranging from 7 to 15 year olds. Cabin staff will mentor a small group of kids throughout the weeks, making sure that everyone is having a meaningful and fun camp experience! Staff will get the opportunity to lead a variety of activities including off-site trips such as kayaking and heading to the beach. Being a small camp, every camper and staff are included in our camp family - where everyone is welcome and celebrated! Diversity is a keystone part of our community and we welcome people of all races, colors, religious beliefs, national origins, genders, experiences, and abilities at camp.

STAFF TIME OFF

Every camp staff member will receive at least an hour and a half off each day. There may be days where there is more time off. During this time, staff is welcome to use their phones and electronics in the staff room or away from campers. Staff is also welcome to drive into town during their breaks.

Every week staff will have a night off that starts at dinner and goes through breakfast the next morning. Staff will sleep out of cabin in separate lodging with other staff.

STAFF QUALITIES

We are looking for staff that value kindness, safety and are eager to continue growing. Our staff are flexible and creative - able to jump into any activity. We hope that our staff care for each one of our campers and are empathetic and patient with all. We are less worried if a staff member comes with specific skill sets - as we can help teach that! Our staff are role models for our campers, always leading by example.
