Camp Misty Mountain, established in 1971 and located in Armuchee, GA, is the premier camp for older Girl Scouts in the Greater Atlanta area. Nestled in the scenic Appalachian Mountains, the camp spans 800 acres of fields, forests, and its own 100-acre Lake Marvin, offering a variety of outdoor activities. Known for its robust Western equestrian program, campers can enjoy horseback riding, along with canoeing, kayaking, and other water activities on the lake. With a Challenge Tower, ropes courses, a pool, and the chance to bond over campfire s’mores, Camp Misty Mountain provides the perfect blend of adventure and camaraderie for campers entering grades 4-12.

Staff Time Off
Camp sessions run Sunday through Friday, with staff hours from 11:00 am Sunday to 5:00 pm Friday, including two one-hour breaks each day.
Weekend/Time-Off Policy:
Staff have Friday nights and Saturdays off.
Staff must report back to camp by 11:00 am on Sundays.
Staff Resources:
Wi-Fi and cell service available in the staff office during breaks or emergencies.
Access to camp washing machine and dryer (detergent provided).
Counselors stay in air-conditioned cabins.
Opportunities to gain certifications in lifeguarding, archery, ropes, canoeing, and more.
Optional staff recreational activities or trips on Saturdays.
Staff Qualities
- Experience working with children, enjoys the outdoors, stamina to work long days
- Equine Camp Counselors are responsible for camper supervision, assisting with daily care and preparation of horses, leading activities, and providing an exciting, fun, and memorable experience for all campers.
- Camp Misty Mountain’s Equestrian program focuses on Western pleasure, Gymkhana, Trail Riding, and Natural Horsemanship for girls ages 9-17.
- Camp Counselors are responsible for camper supervision, leading activities, and providing an exciting, fun, and memorable experience for all campers.
