Camp Overview
Camp Mendocino is an outdoor education and environmental awareness program focused on the character and leadership development of kids from disadvantaged circumstances. Since 1931, Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco has been providing this creative, fun and supportive camping experience for youth ages 8 to 18.
Located in a 2,000-acre beautiful redwood forest three and half hours north of San Francisco, Camp Mendocino offers programs that are clearly unique to those offered at our eight Clubhouses in San Francisco.
As with all of our programs at Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco, kids learn respect for others and themselves and are given opportunities to learn, grow and succeed. Through our outdoor education programs, like nature, gardening and environmental education, children are taught respect and appreciation for the natural environment.
Campers leave Camp Mendocino with high self-esteem, the result of mastering new skills and overcoming challenges. Campers return home with the confidence that they can meet new challenges, build new skills and make new friends.
