Camp Overview
Camp Kippewa is a traditional girls’ sleepaway camp in Maine. Our campus houses 3 camps within a camp: Camp Kippewa, offering 3½-week sessions of a traditional camp program; Camp Kippewa Point, offering 2-week sessions of a traditional camp program; and Kippewa Equestrian Academy, a 2-week specialized camp session for equestrian enthusiasts! Staff join us for the full 8 weeks of the summer, supporting all of our exciting programs. We pride ourselves in offering campers an exciting range of activities to participate in, taught by experienced instructors. Kippewa creates a safe, fun environment to make friends with other girls, to learn social, artistic, and athletic skills, and to take childhood steps toward the independence of adulthood. The worldwide friendships and memories made over the summer truly last a lifetime.

Staff Qualities
Kippewa carefully selects applicants aged 19+ whom parents would want their daughters to emulate as camp counselors. Warmth of personality, calmness, independence, inner confidence, and a strong work ethic are essential, along with teaching ability in specialized activities. Our counselors are all hired in a combination role as specialists and bunk counselors. Counselors teach classes throughout the day in one, two or more specific program areas.
