Camp Overview
Camp Hidden Valley is a summer day camp for boys and girls ages 6 to 13. Our outdoor education program emphasizes character and leadership development and curbing summer learning loss. Students (200 per one week session) are bused to camp from eight locations in Harford County, Maryland. Typical camp activities include crafts, outdoor sports and games, team building activities, swimming, and tubing in Deer Creek on our rural 180 acre site. The camp has an in-ground swimming pool, a dining hall, a pavilion, basketball and volleyball courts, a ga ga pit, bathhouses, and bunkhouses.
STAFF TIME OFF
The camp day for staff begins at 7 am and ends at 6 pm, Monday through Friday.
STAFF QUALITIES
Staff members should be honest and reliable. Liking children is required. Previous experience in working with children is helpful. Staff members should be able to take direction and respond to adults and children in a kind manner. Staff are also expected to be able to think "on their feet" as not everything can be planned. Creativity is a plus and staff are encouraged to augment the camp program. However, staff are expected to follow the camp program and obey camp regulations. There is to be no consumption of alcohol or drug use by staff.
