Camp Overview

SOAR365’s Summer Camp at Camp Baker welcomes children and adults with disabilities, offering an accessible camp experience filled with outdoor fun, all under the care of highly trained and compassionate counselors. Counselors will assist with personal hygiene, meals, toileting, medication management, and activities, while nursing staff provide medical services. A low staff-to-camper ratio ensures high-quality programming and individualized attention. We respect that each of our campers is unique, with their own needs, desires, strengths and goals. At Summer Camp at Camp Baker, campers enjoy participating in a wide variety of therapeutic, recreational and social activities, including swimming, horseback riding, paddle boating, arts and crafts, sports, nature exploration, music, talent shows, cook outs, pool parties, and even tent camping.

Our campers’ families often describe Summer Camp at Camp Baker as “a lifesaver” and “a relief.” Caregivers are grateful for both the inclusive nature of this camp and the respite it provides. They take comfort in knowing their loved ones are enjoying a traditional summer camp with friends in a safe and welcoming environment. And our campers are not only having tons of fun — they are growing and developing new skills! We are still evaluating the situation of COVID and are reviewing what precautions we will need to take to have a safe summer camp experience. We plan to have ten weeks of overnight camp or potentially switch to a day camp model. At this time, staff are required to be vaccinated per federal mandate.
