Camp Overview
Nestled in North Scituate, Rhode Island, Camp Aldersgate is a progressive Christian camp and retreat center owned by the United Methodist Church. Since 1945, it has offered programming for people of all ages centered around faith, friendship, and personal growth.
Set on over 280 acres of scenic land, the camp features a private lake for swimming and boating, a waterfront area, arts and crafts facilities, ropes courses, hiking trails etc. They offer both day camps (for ages 5–13) and overnight camps (ages 7-17), as well as retreats, leadership programs, and special themed weeks (such as arts, adventure, and social justice).

Staff Time Off
Staff receive 1 hour off per day, and time between sessions each weekend, usually 10pm Friday to 12pm Sunday.
Staff Qualities
Aldersgate has a long history of hiring international staff. This is a great opportunity for our campers to meet people from all over the world from different cultures and backgrounds. Some of the personal qualities we look for in our summer staff include interest in working with children, an excitement for working outdoors, ability to work as part of a team, being a good listener, ability to think quickly and react positively to challenging situations, and excitement for our mission.
