Brant Lake Camp for Boys
Over 100 Great Summers. One Family Ownership.
Brant Lake Camp, founded in 1916, is one of the oldest single-family owned camps in the country. At Brant Lake Camp, we have a thoughtful approach to caring for kids. We acknowledge that a boy’s needs change as he grows. This allows us to know each child’s personality, and recognize their strengths and needs. Nestled in the Adirondack Mountains, 3.5 hours from New York City, Brant Lake is home to boys 7 to 15 who enjoy a summer steeped in tradition and fun.

Hmm... What's your role?
Staff Time Off
During orientation counselors are given time off to allow them to explore the area and settle into their surroundings. Once campers arrive counselors are given 5 days off and 6 early nights.
Staff Qualities
We want counselors who:
Enjoy spending time and having fun with kids
Are good human beings
Are great role models
Everything else is secondary. A boy’s summer will be fundamentally influenced by counselors who embody the characteristics above, build strong relationships with their campers, and provide positive feedback.
Our counselors are screened and selected from many applicants on the basis of integrity, character, reliability, warmth, personality, and a sincere desire to work with kids. Many have special skills and are excellent coaches and teachers — but their primary responsibility is to spend quality time with kids.
While most camps hire counselors as either Specialists (i.e.- basketball, soccer or baseball instructor, etc.) or General counselors, we believe they are missing a critical opportunity. For this reason we consider the vast majority of our counselors to be General counselors, with very few exceptions.
