Camp Overview

Our programs provide summer recreational activities that include swimming, limited athletics, arts and crafts, lots of music, and access to multiple facilities at the College. Additionally, three weeks of the nine weeks of programming takes place at a rustic nature center with hiking trails, a lake and access to outdoor educators. The people we serve are eager and happy to be with us. They live with mixed disabilities including Autism and Intellectual Disabilities. Many have attended for years.

Staff Qualities

Enthusiasm, maturity, team player and good communication skills. Our participants are vulnerable and their welfare, safety and security must be the top priority at all times. This job requires an ability to work hard. However, the reward are great. We make every effort to take good care of our staff. In return, we expect a real commitment to forming relationships with our participants.

Counselors must be comfortable living in a Dorm, (Suite) setting with participants. They also must be comfortable keeping track of time an individual receives medication. ( We have a nurse). some participants will need help with self care, ie. regulating water in shower, organizing self care, tying shoes, reminders to brush teeth. If at any time a counselor is uncomfortable with a task, they must notify the Camp Coordinator or Nurse on duty.
