UK Visa - Returner Instructions
PLEASE READ IF YOU HAVE APPLIED AND BEEN ISSUED WITH A J VISA IN THE PAST 48 MONTHS
Any participant who has been granted a J visa in the past 48 months may be eligible for a visa interview waiver.
This means you will not be required to attend a face to face interview at the US Embassy in London or Consulate in Belfast.
To qualify under the ‘Interview Waiver Program’ you must meet the specific criteria, including (but not limited to) having applied for a J visa (any type of J visa, principal or derivative) not more than 48 months after the date on which the prior visa expired.
PLEASE NOTE: THE NORMAL PROCESSING TIME FOR A POSTAL VISA IS THREE WEEKS. IN ADDITION THE EMBASSY MAY ASK YOU TO WAIT A FEW WEEKS BEFORE SENDING IN YOUR APPLICATION BY POST INCREASING THE TIME FOR THE VISA TO BE PROCESSED. IF YOU ARE DEPARTING SOON, PLEASE TAKE THIS INTO CONSIDERATION AS AN IN-PERSON APPOINTMENT WILL BE QUICKER.
