It's important to get your visa as soon as you can (no need to wait until you are placed!) - as embassy slots are limited.
Here’s what you need to do next:
- Book your visa appointment at the US embassy - slots are limited this year so don't delay! – you will get a link from the Visa page on your online CA site with all the information you need soon. Keep checking your site. Note - if you are not placed we refund your embassy fee!
- Police Check – login to you Camp America account and check this has been submitted.
- Medical Form – download and complete your medical form (if you would prefer to wait for a placement before taking this to a doctor that is okay) You can access the form by clicking HERE
Hopefully, it won’t be long before you receive a camp placement! Keep an eye out for camps getting in touch with you. Once your placement is confirmed the final programme payment of £440 (Camp America flights package) or £234 (Arranging Own Flights) will be added to your Payments. We expect you to receive a great camp offer, however if you are not placed by end of May/June we will be in touch and you will receive a refund of the US Embassy J1 visa fee and any payments made to Camp America above the initial 1st instalment. Please note the DBS/Police Check fee and any expenses incurred obtaining your medical form are non-refundable. Remember, if you cancel prior to late May you will not be eligible for any refunds.
For those living in Australia and New Zealand: Please login to your online CA site to make your final payment and complete the medical form (see link in the bullet points above). We will then be able to issue visa papers for you to book your appointment at the US Consulate as quickly as possible.
