Once camp is over you have 30 days to travel the states but how does the last 24 hours of camp work? And how do you start your adventure around the USA?
Camp will fly by so quickly because you'll be having so much fun! and before you know it you'll be leaving to travel the states so how can you prepare for this before and during camp?
We work with over 800 camps and all are different in their own way but generally when it's time to leave, they're all pretty similar. The children will be the first to leave so most of your last day will be spent packing them up ready to be picked up by their parents and getting camp closed down for the season. Once all the children have left you will then have say your farewells to to the other staff and start your travels! Your camp will normally take you to the closest Airport, Train Station or Bus Depo that evening or the next day, to help you get on your way!
Be excited, don’t be apprehensive! Before you leave for camp don’t worry too much if you’re not completely sure what you want to do after camp, most of you will be going to camp for 3 months and it’s hard to know exactly what you want to do. At camp, you’ll hear about so many amazing places and make so many friends that’ll be a case of having too many options rather than too little after camp! We have lots of flexible flight options to help accommodate this too!

Remember that most people at camp will be in the exact same position as yourself, they will be miles from home (perhaps for the first time) by themselves and will be nervous about what to expect. DON’T WORRY! You’re sure to make friends and these are the people you will organise your after-camp plans with, most camps have access to internet or you can access on your days off so you can research and book travel before you leave.
Before you leave their will be time to celebrate the amazing summer you’ve had! This is a great opportunity to reflect on all the things you have done throughout the summer and all the fantastic memories you will have made. This usually means one last meal in the dining hall with just the staff and WARNING! It will get emotional.
