Since September 2018, I have been travelling around the world, seeing, learning, tasting and smelling myself out of my comfort zone and into some pretty incredible experiences. I am writing this from New Zealand, country number nine, and spending the summer in the US will be the last stage of my trip, country number ten, before heading back to the UK.
I am a part-time Open University student and am not currently working, although have held various paid and volunteer roles in Asia and Australia throughout my time abroad. My inspirations and aspirations have been known to change quite frequently, now more than ever, but at this point in life, if I could do anything – I would teach.
As a child, I loved primary school and all of the extra-curricular activities that I was able to participate in, whether they were related to music, sport, or anything else I got into. I consider myself eternally lucky to have been constantly surrounded by enthusiastic, interested and supportive ‘grown-ups’ – which is what I now pretend to be – ever-willing me on and challenging me to do my best while loving every minute. Aware of my opportunities, I have always wanted the chance to be that person for a new generation of little people, and am now grateful to Camp America for allowing me that. Can’t wait to meet you, NSHH!
