Hey GUYS! My name is Aimee. And this will be my fourth summer at a special needs camp. I still can’t believe how much Camp has grown on me and become apart of my life, I don’t think I can imagine a summer without being at camp anymore. For the past three years I’ve had the opportunity to work at special need camps and I’ve absolutely loved every experience and would recommend it as it’s been so rewarding and helped me improve so much when it comes to learning about multiple disabilities.
I am currently studying tourism management at Manchester University plus working an additional three jobs. During my spare time I love travelling, since my first year at camp I ended up getting the travel bug. And since then I’ve been currently travelling every month, my aim is to travel to a total of 25 countries before my 25th and I am very hoping that I reach that or more by that time. On top of travelling I also started a travel vlog which I absolutely love, and my aim is to be a travel influencer, combining my travel and photography skills to influence others. So far it’s been going great, last summer I ended up becoming everyone’s photographer at camp and I believe that will happen again this year as I just LOVE filming and taking photos and sharing them through all social media platforms.
My dream job would be to become a travel influencer full time, though my back up is to work on cruise ship as a Manager or Youth counsellor. My previous experiences at camp have been an a blast from the kids to meeting new people and having lost lasting friends. Me returning back to camp is mainly for the kids, they all have a special place in my heart. I honestly feel like it’s soon about to explode. They are just amazing, and their families are also forever thankful for what we DO! I couldn’t recommend Camp America enough, I wouldn’t be where I am today if it wasn’t for this programme, and I definitely wouldn’t have met the kids and families that I still keep in contact with from my summer if it wasn’t for CA.
If you’re considering doing camp this year. DEFINITELY make it happen. YOU’LL have the best summer of a life time.
