"Food, Turtles and Drug Test" by Louise Folena

Hello people of the world,

I feel like I’ve settled in really well at Camp Laurel, so I’m super happy that I was placed at this wonderful camp.

The food has been awesome and sometimes weird.. I’ve had chicken nuggets in pizza (is this normal?) and lasagne soup (I’m still undecided on my opinion on this). Also, corn bread which, in my opinion, looks and tastes like cake; so when eating it with chilli the other day it felt slightly odd, but it tasted nice so it’s all okay.

The have turtles in the lake here which I thought was cool; they’re pretty big. Also, there’s loads and loads of tiny baby toads near the lake which are super cute; they’re probably like the size of my finger nail.

The rest of the domestic staff are arriving today and staff training starts this afternoon. I’m super excited to meet all of the wonderful people that I’ll be spending this summer with. Firstly though, this morning I’ve got to go for my drug test along with the other international staff (basically just gotta pee in a cup).
