Camp America is without a doubt the best thing I have ever done, and is undoubtedly one of the best things I will ever do in my lifetime!
Camp America is without a doubt the best thing I have ever done, and is undoubtedly one of the best things I will ever do in my lifetime! Working out of your comfort zone in a new country, with new people, is an incredible challenge. It teaches you to be patient, confident, creative, and most importantly calm under pressure. I was incredibly thankful to be placed at Peconic Dunes 4H Camp in New York, which has become my second home. They gave me the opportunity to work my way up from a counselor to a director, which taught me invaluable life skills and has shaped who I am today.
I feel very fortunate to have worked with some truly incredible people, and feel even luckier to call them some of my closest friends. I miss it every day; there is simply no other job like it.
