Hey Everyone,

I'm currently RTP since about January, I hear heaps of people are getting Ready Steady Go and I haven't been offered that yet and I'm really getting worried. I have emailed heaps of camps but haven't had much luck as most of them are full or have staff with my skills already.

I have had two Skype interviews and one with a camp quite recently but I haven't heard anything back and its been longer than she said it would take to hear back (three weeks). I am getting quite worried that they found someone else. I'm starting to lose hope, I don't understand why I haven't been asked to be RSG yet...

The summer camp idea sounds amazing and I really wanted this opportunity to work with kids! I currently feel like I will never be placed. :/ Does anyone else feel like this? Does anyone have an tips on what to do to become RSG?

hey dove!

RSG only means that you can get your visa before even getting placed

don't panic if you didn't got the offer, it doesn't mean anything bad, it's just that the american AIFS / Camp America Office looked through some application online and think that these particular appication MAY(!!) have a better chance of getting placed, maybe because of the skills or the applicants age. remember it doesn't mean your application is worth any less if they haven't offered you RSG!!

I'm am currently on RSG and also still waiting, just like you, I don't have any advantages. I don't have a guarantee that i get placed. i have to wait wait wait.. it drives me crazy!!!

we have to keep the fingers crossed!! :)

I don't think that there is anything you could do to get RSG, because the american office has to offer it to you.
keep the hopes up!!!

Having emailed a few camps many have hired all international but if anyone is interested camp scatico had a position for someone 19+ for the nature programme unfortunately I wasn't old enough:( or it would have been great.

Still waiting to be placed if anyone knows any camps hiring dance/ creative arts or climbing staff it will be a huge help. Good luck everyone:)

You know what i don't understand.. how is it possible that we email camps and then suddenly they do need to hire someone.. i mean isn't this exactly why i am an applicant at camp america. otherwise i could save the programm money and just start emailing hundreds of camps..isn't that what camp america should do? Try getting in contact with camps and asking if they need staff.. you can tell that i am frustrated waiting on ready to fly. Already got my visa.. first i was kinda stuburn emailing camps but reading all your posts i guess it is worth a try..

I completely agree Julia but I guess they just have so many applicants including returners . I think it is the Ameican office that does the camp contacting, at least your on RSG Ive been waiting since September and still not on it:(. I would definitely reccomend contacting camps and don't give up. Good Luck with placement!

Like I already said, I was really hesitant about emailing camps, and I still haven't.. However, I have had a couple of emails about setting up interviews, so don't lose hope everyone, I'm sure you'll get something soon!

I just means Camp America:)

I gave the office a call today as advised to do in an email for somebody to take a look at and assess my application and I was told oh yeah you have been waiting a long time and would like my application withdrawn and re apply next year? With readers to assessing my application nothing was done he stated "you have a video and pictures up". I was absolutely mortified every other member of CA I have spoken too has Been polite and encouraging about placement I'm now feeling so deflated after being so hopeful
