returner: do i need to book my return flights before camp?

by Stephen2392 » 07 May 2012, 13:20

Hello,

So money is tight right now and i need to book my flights to new york. However, i was wondering if i could book only my departing flight now and book my return flight when im at camp making some money? Or do i need a return flight when at the embassy to receive a visa?

Thanks
Stephen

I would imagine having a return ticket home is probably going to be important when you arrive in the USA, given you only have 30 days to travel after camp. Every time I have been through immigration I have been asked for details of when I am going home or of my flexible return ticket.

You'll also find that two single tickets will cost a whole lot more than a return - probably double the cost so could be false economies.

I got placed this time last year as a returner and found some really good deals with Virgin still (£480). They went up to £900 two weeks before my departure date........
