Anyone get their placement at recruitment fair?

by Ben5039 » 13 Mar 2007, 19:16

Was wondering if anyone got their place at the director’s recruitment fair. I went to the recent London one. I submitted my application on Friday and went to the fair on Saturday. Glad I went because I got my placement on the day after talking with one of the camp directors.

Would recommend it but it doesn't look like there will be any more fairs.

Independent Lake Camp in Orson, Pennsylvania. It was the first table I went too and I got the place straight away so I didn't bother looking any where else but I was going to look at Stewart For Boys in Texas and some other camps.

I went to one of the London ones.I tried several different camps with no luck. I then went to the table of Camp Pinewood, NC which also played a video. I managed to get a placement there as a general counselor.

It was good as I was dispairing. I'd had to fight to get the day off from work.

I went to the london fair in Olympia. Best things I ever did! None of this waiting around to be placed, I made a list of my top 5 choice of camps that were there that day. And I can say I was extremely lucky to get my first choice and be offered a job on the spot. I had only been in the building 45 minutes. I love when life works out that way!

I'm off to camp PACIFIC btw... Seems like one of only a few on the west coast. And best of all its on a beach! Yay!! :D
