Well usually it's just a couple of days but if you're having you're passport sent to C.A which is FREE as they send it back to you, you may have to wait a week cuz they are busy dealing with people who are flying out on early dates.

I had mine yesterday 23rd at 1 pm - it was quite long waiting for me, not sure why, I think the people before me were having some problems.

I think I eventually got out at about 3ish, 1 hour waiting for the first section (taking and scanning the barcode bits, scanning finger prints) then about another hour waiting until the "interview". The interview consisted of - "Place your hand on the scanner.... so why do you want to go to America ?.... Thanks, you can pay for the courier on the way out."

Very quick procedures, but a long, long wait.

Take a book otherwise you will get bored. Also if your appointment is at 1, definitely get there before, I managed to get into the queue at 12:20.

I have a teeny mark on my finger from where I had a paper-cut...my visa appointment is on wednesday so hopefully it will totally be gone by then, but would the scanner thing not work if it was still there?? Major panic! haha! xx

You can take your phone, they take it from you and give you a little ticket to collect it after you come out. I didnt take my phone, to be honest you really dont need to, just another thing to worry about ! Very tight on security there, just bring the bare necessities; forms, passport, money and travel tickets. And something to keep you occupied while you wait !

Had my visa interview at Belfast this morning- qued for half an hour to get in and the whole process took less than twenty minutes. I barely got time to read my magazine! Well pleased!! They did let us take in mobiles, they just needed to be scanned etc

They only scan your fingers from the tip to the first nuckle, and the scanner will still work if you have a cut but you have to press quite hard on it so they can get a reading. If it shows up on the interviewers screen she will ask you about it. I have a scar on my little finger that showed up and she asked me about it. I told her it was a scar and she wrote it on my visa forms. I dont no what they do if i a cut shows up.

Hope that helps x
