Passport now back!! anyone know about the visa date?

by James3750 » 24 Apr 2007, 10:32

My passport turned up this morning (I've been biting my fingernails waiting for it as I fly out to Spain in a few days!)

My visa says it expires on 02 October. is this the actual date it finishes or do you get the 30 days on top of that??

You get 30 days grace period on top of that, but that period has some restrictions (eg. one is that you can't travel outside the US)

thats good to know that they're starting to get back to people. i also went on the 13th april. do you have to sign for the passport when it arrives (does it come recorded delivery or something?) just so i can know in advance to make sure someone is home!! thanks

I got mine today via DHL - no one was in so I assume you don't have to sign for it.

To participants from Australia, this does not apply to you! Your visa is issued based on your placement dates, not the dates on the DS2019 document.
You will need another B2 visa if staying longer than 30 days after your last day of camp. This is what has been communicated to me by Camp America Australia. The Sydney consulate works different to the UK one.
