Block & Hexter - Pennsylvania

by Michael6301 » 23 Mar 2010, 22:14

Hi all I'm Michael and I am just putting up this message to connect with anyone else working in this camp. I'm doing the Campower program and am working as a dining hall aide at this camp.

I'm from New Zealand and am looking into travel options afer I finish my camp time. So if anyone wants to connect then post here and maybe we can all get to know each other before we start work!

Michael, I'm gonna be at this camp too! I'll be working as a digital photography counsellor (I don't think that's the official name but that's basically what I'll be doing!) What date are you flying out? I'm flying on the 23rd june.

Looking forward to it now that it's so close!!

music department? that's cool, do you know what sort of things you'll be doing? have you taught music before?

This is so weird, about a month ago, I couldn't find anyone who was on this flight, then suddenly in the past few days, loads of people have turned up! lol

Basically, it says I'll be in charge of the choral group. I've been involved in a lot of musicy type things but never been completely in charge, but I'm just gonna go for it I guess! Should get the hang of it pretty soon if we're there till september :o I don't know what to prepare to 'talk about our country', have you had any ideas? It's going to be a loong day of travelling on the 23rd..

Yeah, I found that hard too, so I got my boyfriend (who is from Guernsey) to help me, as a sort of outside England perspective, lol
I've just got some slides about the queen and how the government works. Still need to add to it, but I'm kinda focusing on packing right now coz I still need to do that! lol
Where abouts you coming from to get to Heathrow?

I need to pack too, going to be doing that all tomorrow I reckon. Those are good ideas, my mum reckons I should talk about the eurovision! I'm coming from the midlands on a train to euston, then getting the tube to heathrow terminal 3, so setting off at about 9am, not too bad, how about you?

Lol, yes definitely do that! gotta love the eurovision. I thought about maybe comparing the distance between places, as in the US everything is super far apart, while in England you can drive across the county in less than a day!
I'm coming from Bucks, so it's less than an hour to Heathrow! I'm so sick of packing, I moved out of my uni house today and then I have to pack all over again for camp!
R u going to wear your camp america t-shirt at the airport? I'm debating whether to or not still!

Don't worry, I've decided to wear mine so you won't be the only one!

I HATE packing, I've got everything ready to go in my case, now it's just a matter of cramming it in. Wish me luck! lol
