I just read over my introduction letter again and it does look like we need to purchase our own tickets, Modin will then reimburse the tickets at camp. Its really straight forward to do:

Leaving from: New york
Going to: Portland, Maine

I purchased the advance ticket $39

I think we should maybe meet in O'Neills?

I think I read that there's a free shuttle that takes us from the airport to the Ramada, and another that takes us from the Ramada to Port Authority...But don't quote me...I'll see if I can have a snoop.

when and what time are you guys flying into new york? Im flying in at 6.30 pm 22nd and will be keen to meet up.

BUt iv decided im not staying at the ramada im staying in new york near port authority bus terminal is so i dont have the hassle in the morning. Iv brought my bus ticket, its cheap and booked chea accomocation near there. Its only bout halfa from the air port and then your near the bus terminal so if any one is keen to do the same i'l let you know where i have booked, its just a hostel nothing flash, but i got a private room so payed a little more but wasnt to bad, beats traveling an hour to ramada that night and then an hour back in in the morning...

I'l have to get peoples numbers but i wont have one till i get to the states! if any one can let me know your plans if they match mine that would be awsome. You can also email me at [email protected]

Oh and im pretty sure the shuttle from the ramada to port authority does cost money, i thought i read it was bout 80 or somrthing (dont quote me) so in the end it was just same amount but easier to saty in new york...

Hi Joanne,

I'm flying out at 16:20 but I might be interested in staying at that hostel, can you post the details? I'm not too keen about paying $/£80 to travel to and from Ramada!

hey ryan,

If you look at the outward flights section on your camp america private page, it lists the shuttle prices from jfk airport its bout 100 us dollars and 40 from newark airport, but check it i could have read it wrong. The place im staying at is 'Central park hostel and inn' It cost me 99u.s to get a private room, but its like 40 if you dont mind sharing. The email is [email protected].

So are you flying to portland on the 22nd is that what you mean by flying out at 1620? What night would you be spending on the hostel if thats what you decide?

Sorry thats what time my UK flight from Heathrow leaves, I'd be staying on the 22nd. I think my flight lands in New York at 7.00pm.

I can't find this list of shuttles though :s

I might look at sharing, if anyone else fancies it?

Hey, just to quote;
Please Note: Upon arrival in New York, you will be met by a member of staff in a Camp America t-shirt, who will take you to our shuttle bus.

This will provide you with FREE transportation to the Ramada Hotel. Please call Camp America staff at the hotel on 973 781 1517 if you have any queries
Travel time to the Ramada Hotel from Newark Liberty Airport is approximately 30 minutes.

If anyone is departing HEATHROW 16-Jun-2010 16:20
and arriving NEWARK, NJ at 1900
please get in touch via email [email protected]

also, ive been looking at doing a trek america tour, is anyone else thinking the same?

Thanks. Dan

Ok, i didnt see that...

Im still going to stick to staying in newyork. But if ryan or anyone is still interested in staying in the hostel near port authority, we should try and meet at the airport. Or even meet there and have adrink before everyone goes to where they are staying the night.

Im getting so excited and just want the time to be here already, although the next couple of weekends of farwell parties should be pretty good to ha ha....

The flight from london seems so short you lucky things, im flying Australia and its going to be a pretty long one, so i might be a bit out of it by the time i meet you guys....

Heeey, i'm on the 1620 flight to Newark too, from T3.
I'm going to be a pioneering specialist out in modin! did we get any further with a place/time to meet in T3? argh, 10days! so much to do before then!

I'm pretty sure our travel to and from the ramada will be free, and like someone earlier posted we'll be reimbursed our greyhound fee..

Anyways, i've only just found the forum, oops, a bit late but oh well! looking forward to meeting all you guys NEXT WEEK!

Emma and I are aiming to meet about 1ish at check-in, not sure about anybody else, if that helps??
I've started sorting stuff and washing loads of stuff I probably won't use til I get to a (slightly) warmer climate and getting my wash bag ready cause I KNOW I'll forget something vital - it's just like me.
I need to get on with scanning all my documents and sending them to myself cause losing something like that is just like me too.

Someone from our camp asked me the other day if I'd bought my greyhound ticket yet, which I haven't...I was gonna buy it at the station - what's everyone else doing? xx

Hi guys,

I can't wait to start this little adventure and looking forward to meeting everyone! I'm hoping we can all kind of stumble into each other at t3, I was thinking we could maybe meet up in O'neils or maybe the weatherspoons?

Here's my number for anyone who wants to get intouch when at t3:

I agree. I'm not gonna be wearing my CA T-shirt. Like I said, probably gonna get there around 1pm. I dunno the layout of the place, like if there's any kind of landmark we can meet by within o'neills or whatever. I think I'll recognise a handful of you from facebook (hah).
Scary stuff...less than a week til we fly...
