Anyone going to NJY camp (jewish camp) in Pennsylvania ?

Hi

Ive just been placed at a Jewish camp in Pennsylvania not sure which camp yet as they have a few, is anyone else going to this camp, I'm not Jewish so not sure how that one works ? :0

hey Hannah,

Take it your CAD doesn't say NJY (RLC) or anything like that?

I'm at Round Lake which is the special needs camp from the set, this will be my third year there so can tell you anything you want to know.

As far as my camp is concerned (and each work differently I hasten to add) the Jewish part is mainly services on a Friday and Saturday (shabbat) which they don't force you to say the prayers etc, they don't want to convert anyone! And the food will be kosher i.e. No Milk with Meat etc!

mine said NJR but not sure which camp yet as they have a few there im still waiting, are you Jewish I know sounds like a random question. Im just a bit nervous about going as I dont have any religious beliefs and I dont want that to clash in terms of taking part in activities :shock:

Don't worry I'm not that religious either (although I am still more christian than anything) at Round Lake we've had Muslims, Christians and Jews with no problems at all. Infact its been amazing learning about them all so don't worry two much about that. As my director said to me, if we've hired you its cause we like you!

Hi! I've just found out I'm going there too...I haven't got a specific camp there yet. I fly out 17th June from LDN. really excited!! :D

I'm going to NJY camps too :)
technically i'm emplyed my nah-jee-wah, but i'm going to be working in the sweet shop which apperetly all the camps get to visit (i think), so we'll probably all see each other around :)
I'm not jewish ethier, but i think it'll be soo interesting to learn about some one elses religion, so i'm looking forward to that!
I dont fly util the 21st thanks to exams and all that!
