20th May J-day? *OR/AND* Anyone staying the night before?

by Laura2062 » 12 May 2008, 18:32

Just wondering what peeps will be there and also I wanted to know if anyone can recommend a cheap place to stay in London near the embassy? I've been given an 8:30am appointment and I know people who stay like 20mins away and have been given a mid-afternoon appointment. Such is life

Also if anyone else is having to stay over for the j-day and like me cash is short  I don't mind chipping in for one room or more if there's a bit of a northerner (and other far away peeps) entourage . It'd be alot more hospitable than a hostel anyway and just as cheap. But i'm not fussed either way...

Just a suggestion. Feel free to shoot me down in flames

Also (the last 'also' I promise!!)... I have a choice of a 4pm flight home or a 9pm(ish) flight, do you reckon I could make the 4pm flight ok as i'd much prefer to get home earlier... exam the next day/

Ha I am in the same situation as you expect my appointment is at 9.30 flying down ont the 19th and staying a night at a Travelodge then flying back up at 8.00pm on the 20th for an exam on the next day. It's not the cheapest way to do it but oh well I just have to work some overtime.

ouch... the cheapest travelodges are like near to 100 quid in london aren't they? I found some of the travelinn's on the outskirts of london (about 5miles from the centre) are 60 quid for up to 3 adults so its my hope that ill find a couple of peeps that are as much of a skinflint that I am... i don't really fancy a hostel by myself :(

Yeah, I only got my date/time a few days ago. So it wasn't my plan to stay over at all. Maybe I should just book the room and then go around begging CA folk for someone to take the other bed
