This is to confirm that Camp America takes the security and privacy of our customers very seriously.

We strive to conform with UK and European Data Protection Legalisations and as a division of the American Institute for Foreign Study (AIFS) we conform to the BBBOnline (Better Business Bureau Online) Privacy Program and 'Safe Harbor' privacy principles of AIFS.

We do not share any information with third parties, nor do we collect or retain any information other than that necessary for us to provide our services to you. We conform to the requirements of the English & Scottish Criminal Record Bureau and once information is no longer required by us for the purposes of placing people on J1 programs in the United States, or informing you of other AIFS programs, any information that we do hold either electronically or on paper is destroyed in secure circumstances.

The only instances in which our policies on privacy will be over ridden are when the safety and welfare of the children are at stake. We give the highest possible priority to the safety and welfare of children and will in all circumstances cooperate with police and government authorities in combating any and every attempt to harm or pursue sexual relations with minors.

How do we use personal information?
We will use your personal information necessary for us to provide our services to you. We do not share any information with unrelated third parties nor do we collect or retain any information other than is required for the provision of our products or services. Information collected during the application process, will be stored securely. Information collected will be securely destroyed if it is no longer required by Camp America.

Third Parties
Where we engage third party contractors (e.g. airlines, embassies etc) to perform services for us, those third party contractors may be required to handle your personal information. Under these circumstances, those third party contractors must safeguard this information and must only use it for the purposes for which it was supplied, although we are not responsible for ensuring this. Other than the above, we will not disclose your personal information without your consent unless disclosure is either necessary to prevent a threat to life or health, authorised or required by law, reasonably necessary to enforce the law or necessary to investigate a suspected unlawful activity.

On-line application
On-line applications for some AIFS programs may request personal and financial information. Required fields are indicated and acceptance to an AIFS program will depend on this information. AIFS has a secure server to handle credit card information and has implemented appropriate physical, electronic and managerial security procedures in order to protect personal information from loss, misuse, alteration or destruction.

Security of information
Personal information collected by AIFS and our websites is stored in secure operating environments that are not available to the public. AIFS will protect your personal information no matter where we process or store your data.

Trans-Border Data flows
In providing our services to you, it will be necessary for us to forward personal and supportive information to relevent AIFS overseas operations and relevant entities. By submitting your personal data to AIFS, you consent to the transfer of your personal information.

Changes to our Policy
From time to time, it may be necessary for us to review and revise this Policy. We reserve the right to change our Policy at any time and should this occur, the amendment would be posted on our website.
