Youth A.I.D. Lewisham...

is a registered charity and provides advice, information, development and counselling services to young people in Lewisham. Established in 1973 to meet the needs of local young people, it is continuing to do so in 2006, supported by a well-established community network.

Through providing a holistic support service to young people, Youth A.I.D. Lewisham aims to:

• reach out and respond appropriately to the expressed needs of young people
• work to improve services for their young people by direct or collective action, or by means of alerting others
• work towards the dissemination of relevant information for young people, in particular with regard to the youth service

Youth Aid has worked with Camp America for a number of years, providing individuals who normally wouldn't be able to access the programme the opportunity to go across and work in the US.

Signing up for an extensive training programme, candidates receive advise and support on being an effective member of a team, take qualifications which will secure the best placements at camp and hints and tips on making the most of their time in the US.
