Seems like everyone has a brother, sister, cousin, friend or friend-of-friend who's done the programme - and now it's YOUR time and YOU'RE now interested in joining the Camp America family... Or maybe you're one of these people who's forever hearing the term 'Camp America' being thrown around in positive, smiley conversations and thought "hmmmn, sounds great - but what's it all about?" Well, let us tell you...

Camp America is an opportunity you shouldn't miss!
It's a chance to do something different with your summer and spend it in the US of A; living & working either with children as an activity leader/counsellor or 'behind the scenes' as support staff, on an American Summer Camp. Each year over 7,500 young people take the opportunity... so will you be one of them? We know what we're doing!
Ok some people say we're getting on a bit, but we say we have life experience!! We've spent the last 42 years in the business of sending young people over the big pond for a summer of culture, fun, sun, memories and, most importantly, camp ... so, trust us - we know a thing or two about this - we've been doing it a long time and we've done it ourselves! The vast majority of our office staff and interviewers (in all our divisions all over the world) have been to camp themselves and loved it so much that they ended up working for the company, helping spread the Camp America love!

We pride ourselves on staying ahead of the pack & our most recent iniatives include our online application system which allows over 1000 camps access to your application 24/7 and we also introduced a ground-breaking system of basing your after camp payment on the skills and experience you have.

The Camp America programme is designed to give you the best of both worlds - work and play! Following your camp placement you'll have tons of travel-time - enabling you to explore the US and enjoy all the fun, excitement and adventure there is to discover there.

We pride ourselves on the fantastic level of service we give you from the very moment you apply - and from here we stay with you every step of the way to ensure that you have the best possible summer at camp. We also remain with you after your camp placement; should you need any travel, visa or insurance related advice! (We're good like that...)

We make applying easy - and then work exceptionally hard to place you!
To secure your placement at a US summer camp for summer 2012 here's a rundown on the process we follow...

1. Complete our online application, pay your first deposit & meet with one of our interviewers. They're exceptionally nice people who know tons and tons and tons about camp (the vast majority have been to camp themselves, at least twice!!).
2. Once your interview is over and application is fully complete, we post it via our online matching system - which is available for viewing to over 1000 camps in the US! We also have a team of dedicated placement officers who work in our Stamford, CT office who push your application forward to camps that are seeking the skills and qualities that YOU have! You can also attend one of our famous Recruitment Fairs, in either Edinburgh, Manchester or London - which kick off in January time. Here you can get hired on the spot and walk away with your dream summer camp job!
3. Unless you find yourself a placement at a Recruitment Fair, we then find you a placement - and you say "hurrah!" We then tell you where you're going and provide you with the assistance you need in obtaining the J-1 visa, and take all the hassle out of arranging the boring stuff like flights & medical insurance.
4. All that's then left is for you to go to the airport, get on a plane, spend the summer at camp, travel a bit and you're 'happy as Larry'. Job done!

We make you part of the family!
Once you've participated with Camp America then you automatically become part of our family, as an Alumni! Should you wish to go on to relive your first-timer experience as a returner then we'll make it super convenient and economical for you to do so, with our fantastic returner deals! We'll also invite you to represent Camp America at your College/University and we'll also give you the opportunity to Interview on our behalf, in your local area - for which we'll reward you per interview conducted. We like to look after our family and we continue to our efforts year-on-year to improve our service!
