Become an Interviewer
Had the summer of a lifetime at camp and wish you could talk camp all year round and share your experiences with others and get paid for it? Well...you can, by applying to become a Regional Interviewer!
The Camp America International Interviewer network is made up of over 400 Camp America enthusiasts - working in countries throughout the world from Australia to Turkey and the UK to the Ukraine. We are actively seeking to recruit new interviewers who have had at least two summers at a camp in the USA (or proven relevant experience in Recruitment) to help us send more enthusiastic young people to the States!
You will become the face of Camp America in your region, so it goes without saying that you must of course have a positive attitude toward the Camp America programme! We are seeking candidates with both strong written and spoken communication skills in English, who are able to manage their time/workload appropriately. Our interviewers use a bespoke Online Applications system (COLA) and therefore we require applicants to have regular internet access, and be comfortable learning/adapting to the use of new online systems. Applicants must also be personable and approachable and be prepared to coach and motivate their applicants, and essentially nurture them through the application process. Based on your own camp experiences, you will be asked to share your stories and to encourage potential applicants to recognise the skills they have and to help them make the most of their application, whilst still maintaining the standards set by the company.
The key-element of the role will involve pre-screening potential applicants during a 45-60 minute interview, where you’ll follow a specific framework outlined in the training you’ll receive from Camp America, as a new interviewer. After interview, you will then be asked to complete a detailed report on the applicant, which will be submitted to your local office and used by our US placement team to find the applicant a suitable placement. You will be responsible for ensuring that all/any paperwork pertaining to the individual’s application is completed to deadline and you will remain the point of contact for the applicant, throughout the Camp America application process.
In return you'll have the chance to keep involved with Camp America and earn interviewer commission (set fee per interview). The skills that you will learn and develop as an interviewer are transferable skills that will add to and boost your CV! Furthermore, interviewing is a part-time responsibility and you can fit your workload around your existing work or educational commitments.
