When you’ve successfully registered and completed enough of your application, an orange bar will appear at the top of your Camp America page to notify you that you are ready for interview. The next stage is for you to choose an interviewer.

Camp America has a network of interviewers spread throughout the United Kingdom, as well as the many countries that we work with in Europe, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand.

By default, you will be presented with a list of interviewers in your LOCAL area e.g. if you’re from London then the interviewer list will default and show you only interviewers who are based in London. You are able to select the ‘Your Region’ dropdown and search interviewers in other areas – and this will certainly be useful if you perhaps register your home address on your application but are based in another city for university or college.

By clicking on the name of your interviewer, you will be presented with a small headshot of theirs and you will also be able to read a little blurb about them – which usually discusses their experience as a Camp America Interviewer.

You will also note the ‘Times to call’ section and overall this gives you a good idea of exactly who will be conducting your interview.

Once you’re happy with your choice, simply ‘Select Interviewer’ and an email box will appear and within the message area you should introduce yourself to your interviewer and request a time to meet him or her.

After sending your request, your interviewer will then be sent your completed application form and they will fully review your application and determine whether or not you are suitable for the Camp America programme. Our interviewers are vastly experienced in assessing applicant suitability and in reviewing your application they will be looking for evidence of appropriate skills, experience and the required motivation level, to become a Camp America participant.

If your interviewer determines that you are suitable for the programme, they will contact you to arrange a time, date and location for interview that is both suitable to you and your interviewer.

At interview, your interviewer will further assess your suitability for the Camp America programme by asking you questions relevant to your skills, experience and motivation.

In the week or so after the interview, once the completed application and interview report has been submitted to the Camp America office, you will be notified of your success at interview. If you’re successful, Camp America will liaise with you via your Camp America Direct site, which is our online system that provides you with step-by-step information for every stage of the process; from payments to placement! You will already be familiar with your Camp America Direct as a result of completing your application.
