Still floating high.

Yes, I am still top of the pops after hearing my fab news the other day!
I have been the worlds biggest loser, and joined the facebook group for Dorothy P Flint 4-H Camp (my life, it is quite a mouthful) and looked at all the photos - its awesome !
Its on the beach - yet in a wood - yet on a farm!
Just shove in some mountains and some desert and what more geographically can I ask for?

I'm guessing I'm a general councelor which is great, just what I wanted to be. I'm gonna be more excited than the kids when it comes to the activities!  Gonna show that high ropes course who's boss.
One thing I am a wee bit skeptical about is spiders. I mean I am very, very, very scared of them. But chances are - living in a hut in the woods - there is gonna be a fair few. And I cant really expect the kids to remove spiders from the shower - so the task will have to fall to me...
I'll have to be a big brave girl - sort the spider situations out - and then collapse into a distraught wreck once the spider and the kids have gone.
Awesome.

Its gonna so be the best summer ever!

I am still so excited I could hurl.

So, my applications being circulating now since November, and I’m still not placed

Starting to get me down now, and cuz I’m only on ready to be placed, doesn’t really make me feel any better about things. I no ive got loads of time to still be placed, but I wana know where I’m going, then I can sort things out.

anyone else been waiting as long as me/longer ?

Went swimming the other day, cuz i figured i need to be up to scratch for camp, and i havnt been for over a year, turns out i need alot of practice to get to as good as i was, i was kinda poor tbh. but i have plenty of time now to sort out my swimming.

also now ive decided im going to do a spot of travelin after camp, were as b4 i was guna come home for alevel results, but as ive been told on the forum i can get a relative to collect them from school, and check UCAS in the mornin to see if i got into uni, so i think that wot im guna do, which means now ive gota start saving alot more money so that i can afford to travel.

I AM EVEN MORE EXCITED, AND APPARENTLY BLIND!

Yo guys if you don't use the forum get on and get heard.

Introduce yourself. Theres loads of people on the Forum that don't really write to the blog. Some of them have been going to camp for the last two or three years so they can help you as well as the Camp America staff.

If you go on to the forum you might find people that are going to the same camp as you that don't do blogs. I met another two people going to the same camp as me and one happens to live just across the river from me.

You can also help us try to beat last years record of 96000 posts on the forum currecntly we are just over half way there.

Hope to see yall on there.

Ciao for now.

The tension is indeed extreme...

Still left waiting in limbo!

I rang Camp Dorothy P Flint and they said they hadnt recieved the applications back from Manchester RF yet, which set my mind at rest for a bit, and now I have recieved an email from CA saying congratulations on being placed in Manchester bla dee bla which has sent my hopes soaring!!!

yet my status is still ready to be placed! These are cruel tricks indeed if I havnt been placed. I  have not heard from the camp since Manchester and my place with them was by no means guarenteed.

If I do get a job with Dorothy P Flint I will actually explode with excitement and be the MOST ANNOYING blog writer in the whole universe, and rabbit on and on and on about the camp, which is EXACTLY what I want to do now, but I will look like a right fool when I find out I havnt got a job there,  and will be a disgrace to the whole Land of Blog.

So right now, I'm keeping it nice and contained- but I assure you things are tense. Well  not realllly that tense as I am not an intense person, I am as coool as a coolbox - maybe cooler.

Come on people hope for me!!

Closing In

Welll...not posted a blog In a while just had loads to do with University starting back and stuff although I only have 9 hours a week. How fast is it drawing in? I was thinking maybe two weeks ago "I have loads of time" now I think about it its nearly March or if you are reading this in march then its March already, AHHHHHH!!!!!

Finally got all my visa application finished and booked up for an interview on the 18th of march in belfast. I have a friend who is going to America with camp leaders and has to go down to London for her interview but has to stay overnight in a hostel. For Scottish applicants that need to go to belfast check with 'RyanAir' I got return flights to belfast for 2p and Tax free from prestwick airport. Fly out at 7am and return at 7pm so nice n easy plus I managed to get my mum to pick me up from the airport on the return leg.

So whats been happening...Well just trying to work away to get some much needed cash to travel after camp sadly at the moment there isn't much work going just the three rugby matches at murrayfield and a couple of matches at Hampden which are spread out between now and when I jet of on the 3rd June. I have found an advert for another job for a restaurant and hopefully will get that to boost my spending money.

Yeh so I'm a bit nervous about this interview. Casual, Smart does it matter? I know I probably shouldn't go looking like a bum Think America has enough of those already to let anymore in.

I have also booked my orientation in Glasgow at Strathclyde Uni so hopefully meet a load of you people there. Not too sure how many Scottish people are on this program I have come across a few but I don't think some a representing themselves as much as they should be. Come and join the party :D

anyway. for lack of an other quirky thing to say "watch this              !"

I've got a feeling I've been here before??

Yes, it's that strange feeling of deja vu....

oh right, yes, thats it, I have once again failed my driving test. It seems to now be a ritual that I write a blog after my shameful failures, so here I am once more.  Last time I had a pizza to comfort eat, I cant do that today - since it is 10:23 in the morning!

Well I am going to ring up First Cymru Transport and order that platinum lifetime buss pass, because lets face it, it's the only way I am going to be getting around.  Hell, I may even just get a buss pass tatooed on to my arm so it is forever with me.

Oh well! It is pretty funny! Please get me to America - Methinks it wont bother me not being able to drive if I am over the pond having the summer of my life.  I know it's really sad but everytime I hear Bryan Adams - Summer of 69 -I sing "It was the summer of 2009" Because I am just too cool for school. And then I get strange looks from my friends. Their just jealous theyr not doing camp america!! am i right!? yes of course I am.

I am also really excited for july 4th in america - I just think that will be awsome! Getting prepared for alot of anti - British vibes that day!

Right. Well. What now?

Sod it, I'm gonna get that pizza.

Check out my camp!!

Hey All,

Just thought I'd update u all with my happenings! lol

The interview at Northumbria uni went good, I got a place on the course and I'm now moving to Newcastle in September!! = CANNOT WAIT!!! WOOOOOOOO!!!

Also I passed my driving test ......1st time babyy!!! with 7 minor faults - but they were just stupid things that I never ever do so I'm putting them down to nerves!!

So.... Didnt end up going to the recruitment fair in Manchester, had to go into work :( Booness... however I'm starting to think whether its the right time for me to even be doing this???

I mean... last summer before leaving for Uni for a start so I'm goin to miss all my friendy's loads, plus the fact I now want a car because I've passed my driving test, and I think the summer will be good for me to work and save some money for both Uni and next year?? I dont know what to do... because it's not me who's paying for CA, its my dad, but I just think I would probably be better going next year instead - I'll have an earlier start date for a start!! lol (its now the 20th June due to exams!)

TTFN

xx
