Camp Pondicherry, Maine
It's now 2013 and I should be revising but I ended up on Camp America again, oops. Last summer I was placed on the IYLA scheme and at Camp Pondicherry in Maine! I had the most incredible summer and met loads of amazing people! And well, im going back!!! This probably won't surprise anyone who knows me as its still one of the only things I talk about!
After Camp I traveled to Boston then to New York where i joined a Camp America Trek to Miami and back to New York again for a couple of days! Overall on my travels I went to 22 different states (something i'm quite proud of)
Im currently waiting to be officially placed as of Camp America so thats quite exciting :)
Im happy to answer any questions that people have both about travelling, the IYLA course (which i highly reccomend) and just camp life in general!
And thats about it for now!
Good luck for anyone who's waiting to be placed and to everyone who goes to the recruitment fairs!
I haven't posted in a long time and since then a lot has happened. I have received my VISA after the quickest visa appointment lasting 20 minutes! After which I spent a small fortune in Forever 21, I love that shop too much!!! I also received my full flight dates, been to the London Orientation and chosen my camp name (Chip due to my surname.. Pringle)! And yesterday I got back from the International Youth Leadership Award weekend.
I signed up for the IYLA course back in September and I am so glad I did! Any girl who is thinking of doing Camp America next year I would fully recommend doing the IYLA course. After being hired at the invite only IYLA recruitment fair in October and completing the online modules I went to the weekend in Oxford! I met so many lovely people, had such a great time and feel like a much more confident person thanks to this weekend. Oh and we got to make s'mores around a campfire! And that's not to mention the staff.. The Camp America staff really made the weekend; they were very helpful, funny, kind and really went out of their way to make the weekend incredibly memorable.
So that is all for now!
Good luck to everyone who is still waiting to be placed!
