camp life

So we had a camp 'Hoe Down' on saturday night, it was soo much fun. We all made costumes to get into the spirit of it and we played games and had stalls like lassoo your counselor, pie your counselor and milk bottle shoot out!   The whole night was fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!

Then last night was camp talent show, and a few of us counselors decided to sing 'I'll make a man out of you' from the movie Mulan, and we all got really into it and did face paints and costumes LOL! I'll add some pics shortly, there hilarious!!!

We have final campfire on Thursday! and this has been a 2week session, so looking forward to that, have had some challenging campers this week, but still lots of fun!

Boston & Wildlife

Hey,    so a few of us internationals went into Boston this weekend, and it was brilliant. First off we went to Harvard Sq. and into the shop and we all got havard uni clothes!!!! lol then we got the subway to Quincy Market which was really cool, but totally packed because it was the 4th July weekend. But Quincy Market is like a small version of Covent Garden! Then we walked down to the Common and the had an ethnic arts and crafts fair, and we got to have a go at weaving a rug, which was really cool!

When we got back we watched the fireworks, was a brill weekend!

Also this morning found this little creature hopping around!

Boston!!!!!!!!

Hey,  went to Boston yesterday, and it was brilliant. First we went to Harvard and had peek, then we went to Quincy Market, which was packed with it being 4th July weekend, but still heaps of fun! The weather here  has been great and its due to get even hotter this week,so I'm getting a good tan lol! The next of set of kids arrive today, and this time its a twoweek session, so its gonna be lots of fun!

Sooooo Tired!!

Im abosolutely exhausted! lucky its nearly the end of the week! The kids have soo much energy!

Last night our unit were full of beans, and kept talking after lights out. Then we had a few homesick campers. Then at 2am we had another homesick camper, so didn't get much sleep last night, but will catch up over the weekend, which will be the 4th July weekend so hopefully will see lots of fireworks!!!

Ok, so it was the attack of the mosquitos last night,  Iam absolutely covered in bites, so stocking up on bug spray and anti itch cream on the next trip to walmart! 

Other than that, having a great time, been doing hundreds of hair braids and now making a friendship bracelet!!!

Pre Camp

Hey, so I'm in New Hampshire now at Camp Runels!! Just finished our week of pre camp! Where we had to learn about the kids and all the responsibilities of being a counselor! The kids arrive on Sunday and I can't wait! This week I'm staying in Blueberry Square which is one of our units with Yurts! And I'm working on an art program! Last time I blogged I couldn't get my camera to work, but fixed that problem now, so there are a few pictures of camp for you too have a peek at!

Dunkin' Doughnuts

Hi all!

Ok so I'm now in America, It's amazing!

Got a lift from New Jersey to Massachusettes yesterday, travelling through New York and Connecticut to get here. And I'm off to New Hampshire on Friday!

Walked to Dunkin' Doughnuts this morning, they have so many of them here!! Was brill!

Everyone here is so friendly and helpful!! Now I'm off for a walk into town!

Will be adding pictures shortly, when I can get the usb connection to work!!

Last day at work!!

Hi,

 So I'm at work right now, so probs shouldn't be blogging, but can't help it, cause I'm so excited! I have 8 days till I leave now!!

Camp nickname = Tigger!  (don't laugh, I had to choose something lol!)

15 Days

Hi, ok camp is coming round so fast only 15 days only 14 more sleeps!!! and 5 shifts at work!!  Im pretty sure I have everything now, so just have to practice packing my bag!

29 Days To Go !!

So did my last big shop before camp! To anyone who's interested I really reccommend Decathlon, its really good and not too expensive either!

   So only 4 weekends left, I am flying on the 14th June 0614LONNYC07 at 20:25!

Had my camp orientation last weekend, and found it very informative! So well worth going and found out about Trek America which I think I'm going to do, so I best get on and book!

Anyone else travelling after camp or could reccommend and good places to visit..? let me know!

So now I guess Ive just got to keep myself busy to make the time pass quicker!

Visa Accepted

Hi, so had to wait in all day Thursday for my passport the arrive! and my visa was accepted! So only 42 days to go! Yes I am counting lol! Also I'm not sure how I should take my money with me cash or card?

Visa Day

Hey, so went to London US emabassy today for my visa appointment. My appointment time was 12pm so I got there at 11.30 for camp America staff to check my paper work, I had everything so I was allowed straight in! And I was out at 11:50...RESULT!!! So 3-5 days until I get my passport back!! 53 days till I leave woohoo!!! Lucy :) xx

Wow what a form! Lol took me about half an hour to get it to accept a photo lol!! Anyway less than 60 days till camp!!!!! It's coming round soo fast. Visa appointment next week!! And going up to watch my dad do the London marathon so that should be fun!!

Wooo! So I got my date for my visa interview it's on 22/04, so now I'll have to start filling in the forms :s !! Also got my sleeping bag, it's really mini so will fit in my backpack well! Lol!

Nothing to do with camp America but had a great day!! Had my first kickboxing grading, which was tiring but fun!

Visaaaaa!

Wehey!

So got home from PE and got a letter fromCamp America with all my visa info woooo! So now justwaiting on an email from the embassy with the dates and time!

I have just watched the most random thing! The new Lady Gaga and Beyonce Telephone video its hilarious!!

Paid off!

Wooo! Camp America all paid off (love you dad)!

Have been testing out my new shoes, soo comfortable!

Was at a netball festival today at my old school, was fun all the kids were like 8&9 and kept running with the ball lol!

Also looking forward to sunday, family gathering, should be fun!

Apres Shopping!

Hi,

    just had a quick giggle, talking to a girl in America who is going to the same camp as me and I say to her "do people bring suitcases or rucksacks?" and she said "whats a rucksack?" I had to quickly think what they call them in America!

Backpack!

So just got home from Lakeside/Decathlon and I bought a huge backpack lol and these trainers/hiking boots, they're amazing and pink! I also got this quick dry towel that folds really small to save on space, which is handy, leaving more room in my bag!

Also I think I have my camp nickname sorted, but i'll leave that till my next post!
