5days!!!

ARGHHHHHH 5days till i leave on a jet-plane!!!

I'm starting to get a lil nervous now!!

Although..... the other day, they changed my flight..... and seeing as i was supposed to be flying from heathrow and getting a connecting flight in Germany..... Im really not too bothered as now i am flying from Heathrow - straight to New York with 3 other girls from camp!!!
Originally i was going to be flying alone.... so im UBER happy that i will have other people on my flight now!!

We will be staying at the Ramada Hotel, so if anyone else is flying on the 11th June, and staying there - come say hi!!

I am pretty much packed and ready to go, but i think my bag is pretty much weighing 23kg, so i might need to take a few things out. I've heard that the scales at the airports arent always very accurate.... so they might say ya bag is heavier that the scales or woteva uv used at home!!!

So on that note, im guna go down the beach for a bit and then tackle the bag one more time!!
ERGHHHH I HATE PACKING!!!

Orientation and whatnot!

Wow, i keep forgettin to blog!! lol

Right.... well i went to the pre-departure orientation on the 8th May so that was a little while ago now!
I went to the one in London as my dad was lovely enough to drive me there..... took FOREVER to find a suitable car park - kept getting lost!! Managed to get there just in time though, not that it seemed to matter, there were still people walking in halfway through haha!!

The orientation was very informative and was pretty amusing! Especially when we had to all sing a song in our lil groups. We sang 'sex on fire' because our group topic was 'sex, drugs and alcohol'. Our group was very un-organised lol!

So overall the day went pretty well, found out a few things and whatnot..... and even got bought a KFC on the way home - EPIC! lol


Im pretty much all sorted and ready to go now!! I leave 3weeks 2mrw!!
I started packing my things today to get an idea of how much stuff i can fit into a 100litre bag and not go over the 23k weight limit!! It seems it may be possible altho i have no room for a sleepingbag!!! UH OH!!  I think i might have to wear it as a dress on the plane lol!

Right well i better go walk the dog!!

Passport and tshirt....

GETTING VERY EXCITED NOW!!!

So, to update my last blog...... I have now recieved my passport back with a sexy visa page inside!! I got it back on the 20th april which was 3business days after my appointment!
I was quite lucky actually as i had decided to pop home bout 11am as i had a small gap at work and thought id quickly track my passport to see when it was expected to be delivered...... it was expected that day!!! So i instantly thought "OH CRAP!!" as i was the only one home. Luckily my dad was going to be home at 12:15 so i waited for him to get home.... and at 12:00 the doorbell rang and there was a lovely man holding a package for me!! I was soooooo happy!!!

So yeh..... after opening the package and seeing it was my passport.....i then realised i didnt have a tshirt with it, that was promised!!!
I emailed CA and they eventually emailed my back yesterday - the 30th, to say they would send one out next week...... IT CAME TODAY!!! wahoooooo!!
So not only do i have a sexy visa page in my passport, i now also have a sexy red Camp America tshirt.... which actually fits me quite nicely - CHUFFED!!!

So today, i think i am going to wear my sexy tshirt and annoy my friends with more information on my American dream!!! hehehe!! CAAAAAANNNNT WAAAAAAIIIIIIIITTTTT!!!

Visa Appointment!!!

Right then.... well i had my Visa appointment yesterday!! Was sooooooo nervous about it, so im so glad its over and done with!!

My appointment was at 8am, and because i live in Bournemouth, we had to leave at 4am to get there!!! (taking into account the traffic in london) which meant i had to get up at 3am, which is never fun!!!

My dad drove me there, which was very nice of him. We arrived in london about 6:45am and parked in westminster city council carpark on park lane (a carpark that is excluded from congestion charges!!). We walked around a bit to kill time as couldn't start queuing till about 7:15. The car park was only a 10min walk so didnt take us long to walk there.....

So i started queuing at 7:15 and there was already quite a few people hanging about.... we queued about 45mins before being let in.... and FUCK was it cold!!!

You're not allowed to take electronic devices in with you so i left my mobile with the camp america staff and they gave me numbered ticket so that i could collect it afterwards. Then we had to take everything out of our pockets and take off belts and watches and put it all in a bag and go through security.

Then it was time for the forms to be checked and to have the interview... i was SO nervous that i had messsed up DS-160 form and that i would have to do it all again (seeing as it didnt save!!). But all was fine and the lovely lady at the second desk said my visa had been granted!!! WAHOOOOOOO!!!

We then had to queue up again at the courier desk to sort out the return of our passports.... the woman i had forgot to give me my invoice..... but thankfully i had realised before i got out of the building and was able to go back to her and get it!

In total, including queuing up outside, i was only there for an hour!! So me and dad just decided to get on our merry way so that he could wok in the afternoon. The car park costed £12 fer the two hours we were there.... yes VERY expensive, but definatly better than public transport!!

Now the waiting game.... feels wierd not knowing my passport is safely tucked away in my dads desk!!! Hopefully it will be home with me sometime within the next week, altho im working all week!! uh oh!!

ANYWAY... Im guna stop blabbering on now and decide wot im guna do with my day off..... PEACE OUT.

FLIGHT DETAILS!!!

Visa Application

Right so i've got my visa appointment through so i decided to go online and fill out the DS160 form..... and what a barrel of fun that was!!!
I filled out the form to about half way through and decided it would be a good time to save my progress in case i need to come back to it.... but when i tried to save it, it said there had been an error - AND WAS SENT BACK TO THE BEGINNING!!  I was like nooooooooooo..... so i tried to save it after doing the first page, and again it wouldnt let me save.... so in the end i just thought, SCREW IT... so i filled out the entire form without saving it.... Although i have got the confirmation page, i emailed it to myself and also printed it out. Im hoping it's correct otherwise there's guna be sum issues when i get to the embassy..... seeing as i dont have it saved!!

I was reading through some of the discussions in the participants zone and some people are saying that u need to make sure you fill out the education section of the visa form, but i didnt have an education section - only an employment section.... I have been left puzzled Im thinking this may be because i am in full-time work rather than a student?? who knows?!

Im guna speak to a few people and see what they know... otherwise i've just gotta hope it's ok on the day!!

I went to the london recruitment fair on the 27th February and got placed at Camp Laughing Waters which is a girl guides camp in Pennsylvania!!


I can't wait, it's going to be so awesum!!! Im trying to find some other people that are going to that camp, but i dont even know where to look!! lol


I've filled out my medical form and sent it off..... i get on really well with my doctor so she filled it out for me and told me not to worry about paying (which you are supposed to do!) so thats a BONUS! So thats one thing off my checklist.... just gotta deal with the Visa stuff now as have got my appointment through for the 15th april at 8am...... which is ridiculous as i live in Bournemouth, it's going to take me about 2hours to get there!! arghhhhhhhhhhhhh!!
