OK..so its a beautiful Thursday morning...early morning but its a gorgeous day..woke up, showered, had a fresh cup of coffee and breakfast be4 I caught the tube to Marble Arch Station and make the short walk to Grosvenor Square...I had 45 mins to spare so I spent that sitting down in the beautiful grosvenor park in the sunshinse !!!  Soo...its getting closer to my appointment...The Camp America representative is extremely satisfied that I have my documentation in order...bit of a headache at security but that is totally understandable !  So I went in...didnt wait for long and finally got into my interview booth...it went much smoother than I thought and it turned out to be OK in the end....all that worry for nothing.only thing I was overdressed...I was the only person wearing a suit in the whole Embassy this morning !!!!!..I just have to wait for a couple of weeks to see that lovely work visa stuck on my passort...so went out..and my mum had onli come back from LA as she was stuck there for a week due to the volcanic eruption which blew ash up into the air !!! my family are also down from Manchester and Peterborough and not only that..I had to miss this mornings lecture....on the train going home to Reading to spend the weekend with my mum and family as I havent seen them in such a long time..I get a phone call from a colleague at Uni who said I got 93% on my Analysing Information Systems presentation...HOW SWEET IS THAT !! This day cudnt be any better.....gonna de-stress with a starbucks now and just look forward to June 11th when I will be flying out to Maryland...Bring on Summer 2010 !!!!!! :).

Embassy Appointment coming up !!

It is now 5 days until my work visa appointment at the United States embassy.  I spent hours today checking again and again if I got the correct documentation.  I just pray to God that every single bit of detail that I entered on the online visa application is correct otherwise that will be the only thing that will affect me big time !!!!  Now thinking positively and looking forward to Thursday.  Instead of taking the bus and 20 minute walk to the Uni campus...I will be taking the bus and the 25 minute tube ride to Marble arch station and that 10 minute walk to the embassy.  My appointment will overlap my lectures so I will have to e-mail my lecturer and hopefully she will just post whatever is covered on my University blackboard account.  Fingers crossed for Thursday.  I wish the very best of luck to all other camp counsellors and camp employers on their upcoming embassy appointments and on their placements.  Hope you all have an awsome summmer :).

Touchwood, ever since I've been placed, my application has been going smoothly and everything is up to date.  All the payments have been made and my flight details confirmed.  The only thing that is left is the work visa interview which is not very far away.  It is on the 22nd of April which means I wud have to leave after 1 hour of my seminar at uni (miss the rest of lectures)..I wud have to jump on the tube to Marble Arch station and make that nerve wracking walk to the US embassy in Grosvenor Square...I normally wudnt miss lectures but I know the Embassy did its best to open this day for all the camp counsellors so I wudnt want to put the embassy under the hassle of rescheduling...other than the fact that I want everything prepared in good time before I make this exciting trip to America...All I can do is remain calm and hopefully get that lovely statue of liberty stuck on my passport :)...I am really looking forward to going out there and work with children to make a difference in their lives...I have worked with children before as a Karate instructor so I know exactly what I'm heading into and I am aware of the unexpected challenges that will be thrown at me :)....other then that I am lookin forward to meeting new people and the lovely tour of the East cost that will follow this placement....this will definately be a summer I wont forget and I hope I get to share it with u guys :).
