Tomorrow morning i'll wake up (if i manage to get to sleep) and i'll look at my suitcase and think ''yeah.. today's the day.. it's finally came around'' and i'll be heading off down to Heathrow airport to stay in a travel lodge down there!2 Days until i fly and tomorrow my journey begins for the summer - i'm slightly nervous and i've tried not to think about it so that it comes around lol, but i'm getting them early feelings when you just stop and think to yourself.. 'oh my god!!!' lol but i can't wait to get out there, and meet some people and have a great time - spend a summer where i'l always remember it! I n ow have apsolutely everything that i need to take away with me - Batteries, camera all forms - photocopies etc - it's all there and i've got my university bag that i'l take on board the plane with me with all my stuff in - i'm taking 102 dollars on my person and theres more in my suitcase - but mostly on my dollar caxton FX card - which i would advise to get because it offers great rates and it's reliable! Aside from that i still need to charge some stuff up like for example -> Ipod Phone Put shaver in my suitcase DS - for the journey down in the car - take 5 hours to get london but with 3 breaks maybe 6 so i'll need something to do lol There's not much more that comes to memory really - i've been packed and sorted for the last 2 weeks since i've been home from University - just been waiting for the day to come when i'll head off to America :D Been lovely weather last few days as well - i'm burnt like a crisp but i suppose thats a good thing because it wont affect me ''as much'' when i get to florida - i'll still get burnt but not as bad 'hopefully' lol Any way guys i thought i'd post quickly to wish you all the best - and i hope you all have a great summer like im sure i will! enjoy yourselves and make the most of it! so its now wednesday the 2nd June 2010 - and this saturday my journey begins - my summer of a lifetime - thats when we set off to go down to heathrow airport and then i fly on sunday! it's so close im starting to get really nervous - and im still worried about the connecting flight but im sure it will be okay - i know exactly what to do if it all goes to mess! i have all my paperwork printed and ready!i'm totally envious of the others that are flying the same day from gatwick and are meeting up before they check in.. plus they are flying directly to Orlando :( just my luck though that i get put on a flight on my own - sounds about right lol Got my suitcase all packed and ready - and im just counting down the days.. hours.. minutes.. seconds now lol - sick of being in England can't wait to get out of here for a little while, do something different - can't wait to meet everyone as well! going to be a great summer! 10 days! that's not a lot of time really, i can't beleive im nearly into single figures at last! still worried about my flights like.. i have to say - especially doing it all on my own as well because no one else is flying, but on the bright side.. lots of movies to watch lol all the ones in the cinema, and hopefully by the time i fly they'l be prince of persia on there too - as i would definetly like to see that!So i've packed my case - all paperwork etc is all printed out and sorted, i'm ready to roll - few things i can put in yet such as my shaver etc, but i can do that the day before as i will probably need it a few times before i head off yet :) When we get to heathrow the day before i fly we're staying at travel lodge - its really cheap guys.. a lot cheaper than Premier Inn, so make sure you check around eh! try get the best deal - no need spending more money if you don't need to!! Cost us 30 pound i think it was, which ain't bad, and there's a shuttle bus to the airport as well! costs 4 pound each way which ain't bad. Airport is 3 miles away from where my travel lodge is - i'm going to have a walk to the airport the day before because i know that i'll need to get used to it a bit so iknow my bearings at least.. especially as 1- im alone .. ALONE <-- i'l just emphasize that lol and because it'll make me feel a bit better! won't be so bad when im on the plane, but then it'll hit me again once getting off and finding my next plane at washington lol but any who! :D Even decided to take afootball and pump so when we get there we can all have a kick around or play some games or something to get more familiar with one another! or the options there nevertheless!! I've got that feeling that im missing something, and it's driving me crackers.. like when you go on holiday to spain and you get to the airport and go ''oh nooo mum i forgot...........'' i can imagen myself getting there and forgetting something important, or that's alteast important to myself! So 10 days and at the moment i'm just getting pics printed out etc to show the kids at camp or what ever incase they ask.. they might not but if they do then atleast they're there, you know :) better safe than sorry RIGHT? :P I just can't believe how close it is now, some great folks going to camp as well, been talking to a few. also got my return flight option booked. I went for the DIY Southern cities one, so i can fly from any southern city. cost 166 pound but it would cost that muchto get to New York to be honest, so it's 6 and 2 -> 3's = 6 so it works out about the same. A few of us from my camp are going to head back together as well, it's a pain becuase im flying from heathrow so i'l return there, but everyone else is flying from Gatwick so they will return there, but hey we're either going to head up to Orlando or down to Miami and spend a few days just chilling and then head back but either way it's going to be brilliantly awesome and i can't wait! anyhow going to get going guys, thanks for reading.. not long now !!!!!! take care guys :) Jay - FLC 2010! So hey i got my new placement - got a call from camp america and they said that there was a camp in Florida called Florida Camp Lion's who are interested in my application, I got an email from the camp director and had to have a phone interview! Was really nervous at the time but it went really well!Turns out they accepted my application and i'm off to Florida Tiger Lake to spend the summer, can't wait! Everyone else is flying on the same flight June 6th but because i was late im on a totally different flight flying on my own, so im just about to put something up on Camp America forums to see if anyone else is flying on the same day - and i really hope they are lol - I've got to fly from Heathrow to Washington and then from Washington to Orlando International - so it shoul dbe.. well.. interesting.. never been in an airport on my own never mind flying alone lol so well yeha lets hope it goes alright! Nearly all packed now, just got back from University for the summer.. brought all my stuff home so now it's pure focus on geting ready to go to camp and it's going to be awesome!!! Anyhow guys i just thought i'd let you know the latest incase you've be reading along my blog! so hey i'l speak soon! probably message just before i head off out there on the adventure! well guys, it's now 6th may, excitement kicking in - but not entierly as i've still not been placed again yet - lol i say that as if i've been waiting ages, but a week feels a month and a month feels like a year!Got my exams coming up now, monday 10th wed 12th and monday 17th - so not long off, been revising a lot so hopefulyl i'l be okay, stress doesn't half kick in though:) i'll be so pleased when they're all over and i've nothing to do or to worry about besides going to america and having a BRILL time! Haven't really been up to much lately, just sort of been waiting for time to pass..everyones nearly placed from my camp now which is good, there all over the place, New York, Masschussets, Iowa - just everywhere, it's great everyone's been placed - they're all excited, their status on facebook is like spam lol it's n ice though im happy for them all! :) as far as i can remember there are 3 of us that still need placing, but hopefully we'l hear something really soon because we're dieing to know where we're going! just thought i'd pop a quick post on here so give you latest gossip on whats happening! But i don't really know much to be honest lol - I emailed Sonja yesterday so hopefully i'll hear something back today about my application! or even better hopefully i'll get a call from a camp, that would be awesome stuff :) I've ran out of thing's to saynow without waffling on lol, so hey take care folks - thanks for reading! Well i got placed again - this time at a camp in Penslyvania, (not sure how you spell it) but nevertheless, only thing is it's for adfults 18-80 with Disabilities. When i signed for camp america, I came because i wanted to work with kids - as it would give me some experience with youngsters for my later career when i go into primary education teaching. So i had to get in touch with Camp America, and ask if i could be moved again - tell them why, they understood which was really good - and i sent the camp i was palced at an email thanking them for the position but declining very politly. Don't get me wrong, i was delighted that i had been placed, it was great! I was really happy, however i need the experience because thats what i'm doing it for, and going to that camp wouldn't allow me to get that experience, which was a shame because it looked like a really nice camp!So yeah - i'm back on guarenteed placement status, and i will be getting placed somewhere else - hopefully soon because it really does kill me to not know where im going! I emailed a few camps in places to see if they where - A- recruiting B - If they would mind taking a look at my application. So it's just once again.. a waiting game.. but i have revision to crack on with so i guess when it happens it happens! either way i should be getting to america hopefully - as i do have Guarenteed Placement (GP) status! Anyhow got to get going, bit of Accounting revision to be getting on with - won't write itself! although i wish it would lol:) Anyhow guys - i'l update when i find out more, thanks for reading! Well, after a hard few days of finding out that my camp in Kentucky had closed down - i've managed to pick myself up and crack on - just a shame all the people i'd met and made friends with - i won't get chance to see/meet or spend summer with which is a shame, you know i had everything sorted as well - visiting after camp and heading home, was looking into hostel - we'd decided who was heading back together after camp and all that - even the hotel room on the 23rd at Premier inn Heathrow was booked. so it's a huge pain - but no one could have expected something like this. some things just happen and it's just hard luck - it's a lot worse for the people in Kentucky - i just hope that they find another job as it's terrible they lost their jobs:( so what now? Well.. nothing really - i got a call and email from camp america and they said that we would all be given Guarenteed placement status - some people from kysoc have already been placed - in Nebraska - Virginia - New Jersey - Massachusetts (have no idea how to spell that one lol) so people are starting to get placed - i'd like to know where on earth i'l be placed and whats happening but i suppose part of the fun and excitement is it being a surprise and finding out when they tell you really so i'm not going to ring them up i'l just wait and see.. you know time will tell really - eventually i'l find out. I mean - Although we are being placed again and our camp was shut down - we have all the excitement to go through yet again - or that's how i see it... You have to: Search about your camp Find out where it is Whats around What its near How long your going for Whose going <-- big one !! whats at your camp attractions what your job is what kids are going how many kids are going where you'l be staying if theres night shift what do you need to take Uniforms where your flying to how your getting back how long camp is on for when does it start So rather than looking at it negativly theres loads of possitives, and thats just the beggining, that's not even touching on actually GETTING TO camp... so there's loads of good things although the last camp shut down. so it's still very exciting and to be fair i can't wait - really can't. Just hope i get placed soon because i'd rather like to know lol - as well as everyone else but still :) Just a waiting game now again guys! Bad news guys - 5 weeks before i flew out to America and it turns out that my camp has closed down due to Financial problems. Spent my last 6 hours on facebook talking with everyone - people who i wont get to meet and talking about what's going to happen. None of us know yet but it's a real pain because the last 5 month we've been talking with each other, all the people that where going to camp Kysoc, and now it's all blown out of the water because it's closed.It's devistating and the returners that where going back are even more heartbroken, i hope they're all okay - i have to say that when signing for Camp America, i didn't think it was possible for a camp to shut down - actually.. the fact didn't even cross my mind - not once.. it's just - well im speechless - not sure whats happening now, or if i'll even get the chance to go to america for the summer.. find out today when everyone rings camp america up and i get a text to let me know what's happening. i'l update as soon as i know guys Jay x 5 weeks !

What was 6-8 months is now just 5 weeks! 5 weeks today and i'l be on my way to Heathrow airport to spend the night at Premier Inn! i can't quite believe how close it is now! I'm trying not to let the excitment kick in yet because i still have 3 exams to go and 5 weeks left and if i get excited then i know it'l be the longest 5 weeks of my life lol, but anyhow it's now 36 days until i fly to America!Turns out that i'l be travelling tdown with 3 other people who are going to camp on the same day, and we're all staying at premier inn, so it's worked out really well - i'l get to meet some people from camp but on top of that i won't be on my own, so i'm not as worried about it now! I still have to find out about my flights on the way back- i have to make my way to new york which could take a while, not sure how i'l do it - whether i'l get a flight in the us from Kentucky to New york or whether i'l just get a greyhound bus - hey who knwos but still i can't wait! it's 66 days away now, its so close i can almost feel the wind going through my hair as i step off the plane! Got loads of stuff done since my last blog! loadds!! - i got my visa sorted, as i had my interview on tuesday 16th march. I missed out a question on schools which meant i had to do the whole load of forms again while i was at the Embassy, that scared the crap out of me because i thought they might send me away and i'd have to go back, but got it all done luckily ! It's really handy that they have computers there and a printer so you can do it right theere and then! There were loads of people that had done the forms wrong too, so i didn't feel too out of place, met some nice people as well. It's crazy how you go somewhere like that and you just talk to anyone because you all have something in common, i met some people form camps all over the place, and its class! Because you hear about how they're excited about going to a camp in ... and doing this ... and this ... flying here ... and all that! Every camp is different so its nice to hear what peple have researched up about their camp when your talking! All in the same boat! SO anyway i got my visa sorted, just waiting for it to come through in the post now! With my passport i assume! So it's all good! Got my flight information as well! flying to washington, then to cincinnati Ohio - can't wait - a bunch of us that are flying the same day to my camp are going to heathrow on the sunday staying in premier inn and then getting a shuttle bus to the right terminal from there on the morning we fly the next day! it's going to be bril - never met them but we'l spend 1-2 days getting to know each other before camp so i can't wait i really cant! going to be amazing!! I've got spam on facebook from everyone getting excited, time flies by to be honest, and although it seems to be going really fast, it's also going really slowwww!! i just hope when i get away to camp it doesn't go this fast:p or it'l be over before i know it :( and then i'l have to wait another.. 9 months or something for camp again!  noo!  Also - I have to attend an orientation for camp america before i go, so i chose the 18th at leeds met, quit handy actually because my last exam is on the 17th so i'l be able to head home and see my family for a few days before i head off to the usa. So everything there worked out rather well if it all goes the way its going **touch wood**! So yeah thats the latest news guys, quite a lot - i usually can't find much to say rather than blabbering lately! oh yeah - I can't wait to find out what color the t-shirts are this year for camp america, that will be awesome! :D although i'l probably wear it out before i even get to camp! :O! I also figured out that its a 5 hours difference in america from uk - they're behind 5 hours, but also my flight to us take 8 hours from heathrow to washington. it's getting closer and closer - about 76 days or something like that now! it's so close !! makes me a bit nervous to think about it actually lol but it will be amazing! :) got my visa stuff all sorted out now too - got the papers and everything through so filled them out - my appointment is on the 16th March - Tuesday at 9:00am - it's really earlier and it's a reall pain to get there but i've got the train and everything booked so hopefully i'l be ok! it should be good - alot of the people that are going to my camp are also going to be there as they have appointments close to my time so i'l be able to meet them which will be brilliant !! When i go to London to the embassey i'l end up having a look roun as i'l set off from home at 5:05am and set off back at 6:33pm or something like that - so a full day of seeing things so it will be nice. Going to be tired though! It's now.. just over 3 months? i remember when it was 7 months! it goes round so fast ! - and more news - i passed all my university exams, so i was really happy! chuffed to pieces !! I have now accepted my flight information and i fly on the 24th May 2010 from Heathrow Airport London - i'm so going to get lost, but hey its all good fun! quite excited, can't wait for it to come round it should be brilliant! got most of my c.a stuff already - a few more bits and bobs to get but i'l get them closer to the time really ! just getting by now - wasting time away and well yeah - thats about it ! just waiting for it to come around! Should be awesome, but anyhow thought i'd just come on as i heard from c.a and i said i'd post! I also have my visa information now - got it through the post, so i'l have to go to my appointment when i get it, apparently you get it at the start of march, or so i have been told - so its not all too far off, so its all good news so far *touch wood- not that i would want bad news but still! So hey finally something new to talk about !!been really busy lately like- starting semester 2 and starting my first assignment although its finished now. so i aint been very active on forums lately, but that'l change eventually :) so hey i got my visa papers through yesterday - they're at home like and im at uni but i'l be going back home next week so i'l get them then and sort through them! i also got my flight information through - reference number and i'l be flying out on the 24th whcih is a monday i think..? but hey May 24th i'l be traveling over to America for Camp Kysoc in kentucky. Bit disappointed that i won't be there on time and that me and one other person will arrive a little later than all the other people but theres not much i can do about that because i have exams the week before the 24th so i'l make do - and hopefully i'l catch up and get to know people when i get there! so yeah thats about all thats new really - but its better than nothing right!? it's only a couple of month off now its hard to believe it 'was' 6 month and now its 3 month and something weeks something days - i should check it out, but im trying not to look at the days because then they go even slower! so itsnow less than 4 months! i find myself writing less and less blogs every time lol, there's nothing really much to update on relating to camp america, and i wouldn't bore you with anything that i do! still waiting for the Visa papers to show and payment to show on my camp america direct, can't wait for camp - can't believe its less than 4 months now, i still remember when i applied in november, time is going really fast - trying to get a job just to get a bit of money before i go away - not had any luck yet, im never lucky with jobs - but i've applied to primark as they have been taking people on recently and have vacancies - how good would that be - cheapER! clothes for camp america, wooho :D but we'l wait and see - fingers crossed really :) there's nothing else to really say - i mean i have to travel down to the american embassy to get my visa, but can't book the train ticket until i have gotten the date of the day - hopefully it will be a J-day - the sooner i get the date i can book the tickets and hopefully get them quite cheap as i'l pay for them in advance but i guess i'l have to wait and see really :) fingers crossed on that too! anyhow i have a load of replying on the forum to do as i even have a post dedicated to me on there now - lol at some of the members on there, crazy bunch - its great :D anyhow i'l post again soon, probably when i hear something as i should do soon! start of feb sometime i think it was said! peave out folks - take care:) James Camp America - Camp Kysoc 2010! been ages !

It's been ages since i posted on my blogs - so i thought it was about time i did!it's been quite a while and therefore its a lot closer to camp - i just finished my january exams and im hoping i did ok - i'l soon find out nevertheless ! i haven't heard much from camp, well actually.. i've heard nothing - although i have been talking to people on facebook about it and how soon its coming round - its hard to believe i first started applying in October and at that time i thought ''omg its so far away i think i'l die....'' and now its what.. ? January going on february! its brilliant... and it really does come about faster than anyone anticipates! still waiting to find out my camp flight dates so that will be the next step - as well as finding out about the handbook thats out in march on the participants zone - AND i'l also have to make that move to pay my visa fee (whenever it comes through) and go down to london for it! so hey a few things to come yet, but i'l update as soon as i find out really !! i Finished reading the Obama book a few weeks ago, - Dreams of my Father - brilliant book, apsolutely excellent worth reading if i havent already said so! ;) i've moved onto some ones called Warcraft now - they're brilliant! but anyhow, going to go get some kip now - take care folks and i'l speak soon! 2010! i remember when it was the year 2000, and the celebrations, time goes really quick when you think about it! Not sure about everyone else's christmas / new year but i had a great time - i hope everyone else did ! although back to the real world now and lots of work :( got an exam tomorrow so wish me luck! Whats new on the Camp America - Camp Kysoc front then? Nothing really, just got over Christmas, getting through my course really - nothings changed with camp America, i haven't heard anything about a visa but i managed to get in touch with the only other person that is flying the same date i am over to ameri9ca, was was brilliant and made me feel a lot better - so i know that i will at least have some company when flying over there, as i have a feeling im going to get lost in a massive airport! I still have some forms to send off but im still currently waiting for my flight time to be confirmed so that i know the exact date that i will be flying over. apart from that there is nothing new really - i'm currently reading the Obama book - Dreams of My Father, and i would absolutely recommend it to anyone who enjoys autobiographies because the book is amazing.. just to see life from another perspective, and how he viewed life and was treat back in the 1900',. I'm quite appalled with how he was treat and others because of the color of there skin, its terrible :( It's great he's president now, thats a must for Washington D.C! definitely on my list for places to visit! Oh and hey - i started the new year with such greatness.. come new years eve my computer broke! -,- ! lol so January the 1st i ordered a brand new computer that cost me a fortune..- i suppose it's not all bad because atleast it will last me a long time hopefully *touch wood* and i won't have to spend a ridiculous amount on a computer for a while hopefully ^^ so i should get that this Friday, so at the moment im biding my time in the library.. yipppee! Christma flew over, came and then went before i even knew it!it's quite amazing how much effort you put into something like christmas, and then within a few hours the presents are done, the meals been made and is over, you've seen all your family and night is approaching quickly. Yet, i have to say that my christmas was really good - i had a great time, and got lots of presents that were really nice :) How was everyone else's christmas? i hope that you had a good time and got everything you wanted! It's New Years next, leaving one year behind and moving into the next.. i remember when it was the year 2000 and the celebrations in my old house (5 houses ago or something?) lol but i have to say, time doesn't wait around, when you think about how time goes really slow, only then do you realise how fast it goes! anyhow im mumblin! So its now 4 Month, 3 Weeks and 6 Days if i recall correctly? until camp Kysoc, i'm still very very excited and can't wait to get out there, but th more i think about it, the more i want time to hurry but because i want time to hurry it seems like it's going even slower than it would otherwise! so i try to keep myself occupied and think about different things! i mean.. 4 x 4 +3 = 19 Weeks and 6 Days! if i was counting weeks! OR!!!! .......... 7 x 19 + 6 = 139 Days if im correct, but my maths isn't amazing lol sso yeah thats my mathematics for today over lol so here's the Months on first line, weeks on second line and Days on the bottom line: ! 4 Month, 3 Weeks and 6 Days - Until Camp Kysoc 19 Weeks and 6 Days - Until Camp Kysoc 139 Days - Until Camp Kysoc It's not all that long really, forums should heat up soon from more and more people applying, probably get some more questions about everything and everything that's already up there, but it's all good fun and gets everyone excited again so i don't have a problem :) Should get the flight information through towards the end of January/mid February! Visa to go to sometime, but i assume that'l be sorted when it gets a lot closer, such a time as maybe the start of may as i read from the date you get the visa, you have 30 days to enter America, if my start date is the 24th, then it will be around the 6th-12th of May i would have thought! Although i could be mistaken;) Till then i've still got to find myself a job to get some money rolling in, i've been unlucky so far with jobs, and job hunting, no one wants me :(.. So whats everyone else up to for New Years? I think a nice night in with family with some diet coke chilling out sounds good to me, stick the wii on with 4 controllers, and just have some fun! perhaps i'l be first through the door again like last year! it's meant to be good luck! So.. its now nearly into the 4 months stage of heading off to camp! it's 5 months 2 days! i remember when it was 6 months, time really does fly past - you always want it to hurry up and come along, but yeah it'l soon come around! some people have been posting some really great pictures on the forms lately, we had one up of Niagra Falls.. looked excellent! Hopefully we'l get a few more up! Forums are due to start getting really busy soon as well, apparently lots of people usually start applying in janruary/towards the back end of january, which means the forums will heat up hopefully :) although i won't be able to keep track of what everyone's saying!! I started my shopping today for Camp America - only bits and bobs but hey it all helps you know.. get a few bits and bobs now and by the time we head off away to camp i'l be sorted completely! managed to grab myself 2 tops and 6 pairs of white ankle socks! only cost me 8 pound 82 pence! (8.82)! i thought that was bril - considering all the clothes we take over are likely to get wrecked any way, or some of them - i just thought lets go primark! good o'l reliable primark! :) but to be honest there aint alot of clothes out at the moment that you could use towards the summer, so i'l have to wait to get the most of my stuff, for example, swimming shorts and some summer t-shirts, shorts etc! all Winter clothes at the moment! and hey.. it's meant to start getting lighter every night soon, so heading out of the winter months into the not so winter months.. into the littl bit winter months, into.. uh.. well.. not winter but certainly not summer.. don't think England knows how to bring a hot summer :) So it's now.. 5 Month and 2 Days away from Camp America - Camp Kysoc! I can't wait, it should be awesome, and strangely enough, the excitement hasn't died down yet, it's like one big climb, and the at the end of the climb we set off to camp! The day after tomorrow it's Christmas Eve, so thats what 3 days away from christmas? i hope your all excited and that you have a brilliant christmas, i know i certainly will! So, whats the latest you ask?Well not too much really, keeping in touch with people on facebook an d on the forum, just getting to know people better really. I emailed my camp and found out they had recieved my paper work which was a relief! As i thought i messed up when sending it so that's alright! Oh HEY! here's another thing, i found out - and i couldn't beleive it when i found out, i all most fell of my chair im sure... My camp does a trip to the Grand Canyon for disabled kids, im really hoping they do it this year, but it should be excellent nevertheless! i mean the grand canon it would be amazing to get their, especially with all the people i would have met from camp! so many photo opportunities there! :D  So yeah they did it last year as i've seen photos and i've heard off a returner whose been the last 5 years now, and honestly to do something like that would be bloody fantastic! So that got me all excited up again, so im hoping that they'l do it, but i suppose i'l find out closer to the day, or when im at camp as its still something like 5 month 1 week off, or something along those lines! So yeah the excitement ain't really letting up quite yet, also found out that people at my camp go for mid night swims - i'm so down for that! :D theirs a fair that goes on at Carlltonn as well ( i know that i have spelt it wrong, but still.. :D) The fair is suppose to be really fun - and we'l be in America for July 4th which is Independance day if your thinking ''huh.. july 4th wha?''.. apparently their are just massive parties, so it should be excellent! i think it's on a friday 2010..! so yeahthat's pretty much the latest - besides the fact im blasting christmas songs and enjoying my time at home! i think i'l make a start on my camp shopping on boxing day when the sales hit! Need a few stuff for when i head out on the Journey of a lifetime!   Merry Christmas to everyone!
