25 days to go, Are you Kidding me?

Posted on 13-May-2010 | 0 comments | Link Wow, It's only 25 days to go until I leave for camp. I don't know where the times gone! I've got my visa, sorted out all the mess with my medical insurance, met up with someone already from camp and all I've got to do is jump on a plane at Heathrow. However, still debating on what to take with me.

Thing are all coming into place!

Facebook is such a good thing!

It's really good being able to speak to people on the danbee staff facebook group. You find out that your not the only British person going, your not the only person who's a first timer at camp and its great talking to girls who have already worked at Danbee to get some tips!

Facebook I love you....

Everything is nearly sorted...medical form done and payed (after a lot of waiting from my doctors ggggrrrrrr!) and payed for everything but the visa stuff.

Medical insurance is expensive! Feeling rather skint atm.

Also, decided to invest in baggage insurance.

Well, its all really happening now....just got to wait for 8th June!

Only 4 months to go.....

Today, I got recruicted for Camp Danbee MA.

Posted on 30-Jan-2010 | 2 comments | Link I woke up at 6.45am and headed town to Twyford Station to catch the 7.24 to London Paddington to go to the Camp America London Recruitment Fair in Kenniston. Once in London, I met with Nicola who I had met on Facebook to catch the tube to Kenniston High Street. We ended up being the first to start the que, and we were soon joined by some more people. The line was later spilt into people who had already had an interview and people who hadn't. I met some really cool people at the front of the que and the 3 hours of being out in the cold went fairly quickly. We all exchanged details, and it will be good to find out where they all got placed. Once through the doors at 12pm, I headed to look for my top 3 camps. I had no luck with the first 2, but I came to camp Danbee. I introduced myself and explained about my sailing ability, before having a chat with one of the camp directors, who showed me pictures of camp, went through the daily routine etc. I knew it was the right place for me, and was so happy to hear that they were offering my a job, which I accepted in a second!. I was given a DVD and yearbook from last summer to read. I then went off to process my place and left by 1.00pm. I leave for camp Danbee on 8th June, and I can't wait to be working as a sailing instructor and working on the waterfront. Roll on summer!!!, all that needs to be sorted now and visas and plane tickets! Anna x
